Exploring the Revitalized Yesan Traditional Market

Established in 1926, Yesan Market has long been a beloved traditional market for local residents.
However, it lost some of its vibrancy in the 1990s. Recently, after undergoing renovations with the help of Daebon Korea, it has become a hot spot once again, attracting many visitors!
I had the chance to visit it this time!
Yesan Traditional Market
○ Location: 2 Yesan Market-gil, Yesan-eup, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do
○ Parking: Public parking lot in front of Yesan Market or alley parking
○ Operating hours: 11 AM - 9 PM
There is a spacious parking lot in front of the market, making it easy to park without hassle.
As I entered, I was greeted by a retro sign that set a pleasant atmosphere even before stepping inside.
Inside Yesan Market, there are various shops to explore.
Once inside, I found a marketplace square that blended the nostalgic feel of a traditional market with a modern food court vibe.
It seemed like a perfect space for families, couples, and friends to enjoy together.
Since I visited in the morning, it was relatively quiet, allowing for a leisurely stroll.
The market features a variety of shops, making it fun to browse the food offerings, and the blend of old market charm with a clean atmosphere was impressive.
The harmony between long-standing shops and newly renovated spaces created many great photo opportunities, making my visit enjoyable.
Especially, Yesan Market offers many desserts made with local ingredients, perfect for picking up a simple souvenir.
As I walked through the alleys, I encountered small food stalls, adding to the fun of trying street food.
The aroma of freshly made dishes wafted through the alleys, naturally drawing me in.
This time, I stopped by Apple Dang Yesan and enjoyed a warm dessert right out of the oven, which was delicious!
On the day I visited, it was a market day, so there were many more sights than usual.
Please note that the market opens on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and 30th of each month, making parking unavailable on those days.
As expected from a traditional market, it was bustling with people and filled with seasonal vegetables and fruits, making it enjoyable to explore.
The vibrant spring flowers were also noticeable, reminding me that spring has arrived.
With its long history and recent changes, visiting Yesan Market felt like a warm and cozy day out.
I hope to visit again more leisurely next time!
