Hadong Samsunggung / Photo from Online Community

As the vibrant greens deepen in the season, if you wish to momentarily set aside your hectic daily life and fully experience the grandeur of nature, we recommend visiting the special attraction in Hadong, Gyeongnam. This place captivates weekend visitors with its overwhelming scenery created by massive stone towers and beautiful lakes.

The towering rock formations and wooden totems piercing the blue sky provide an unparalleled sense of openness and coolness. Beyond just the visual pleasure, you can experience decades of humanistic stories and the unique cultural value of the local community, making it a rising wellness travel destination.

The best time to visit is when the sunlight casts a diagonal glow on the vertical stone towers. The intricate textures and curves of the rocks come alive with the light, and the reflections on the jade-colored lake create perfect photo opportunities.

However, the walking paths can be somewhat slippery due to the terrain of Jirisan, so it's advisable to wear comfortable sneakers instead of high-heeled shoes for safety. As you stroll along with the sounds of the dense primeval forest as your background music, you will feel the stress of everyday life wash away.

Hadong Samsunggung is a sacred training ground established in 1983 by Master Hanpul to restore the sacred area of Gojoseon, Sodo. Together with practitioners, over the years, they have built more than 1,500 stone totems, with a goal of ultimately reaching 3,333.

The vast grounds, spanning about 1 million pyeong, not only feature the Baedal Sacred Shrine but also include Mago Fortress, Cheonghakdong Museum, and Seonam Art Park. The entrance fee covers access to all these areas, making it perfect for exploring the tranquil hermitages and exotic fortress walls.

With a parking fee of 0 won, this location offers great value and is a must-visit spot in Jirisan, open year-round. Recognized as a safe travel destination by the Korea Tourism Organization, you can explore the grounds, including the art museum and museum, for just 8,000 won for adults. The spacious parking area is available for free.

Open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, you can visit at your convenience. Following the designated trails, Geomdal-gil and Baedal-gil, takes about 90 to 120 minutes, making it easy to visit with family.

If you visit on weekends or holidays, you can enjoy traditional performances of martial arts and dance by training groups. These performances occur naturally along the walking paths, enriching your travel experience.

The changing natural scenery each season is also a highlight; in autumn, the vibrant foliage contrasts beautifully with the lake, while in winter, the snow-covered totem clusters create an exotic winter landscape. However, please note that pet entry is restricted on holidays and weekends for safety reasons.
