During lunch, I visited the exemplary restaurant, Raccoon's Haven, located in Geumsan.

Nestled in the foothills of Geumsan in Chungcheongnam-do, Raccoon's Haven is more than just a restaurant; it offers a scenic drive through the countryside.

Famous for its seafood handmade dough soup and known as a cat-friendly spot, it attracts many visitors, especially on weekends.

Curious about the name, many believe it reflects a secret hideaway deep in the mountains.

The road to the restaurant winds through forest paths and rural landscapes, making it a delightful drive.

The signature dish is the seafood handmade dough soup, known for its rich seafood broth and refreshing clams.

Visitors praise the spicy broth and the wholesome whole wheat dough.

Raccoon's Haven is registered as an exemplary restaurant in Geumsan, featuring a log cabin style building with large windows and a second-floor seating area that offers beautiful views of the surrounding nature.

Another popular menu item is the seafood pancake. Many come specifically to enjoy this dish rather than the dough soup.

Unlike typical thin pancakes, this one is thick, rich in eggs, and loaded with seafood.

Going up to the second floor, I enjoyed the view of the forest and countryside, which felt particularly charming even in less-than-ideal weather.

The restaurant’s hygiene, ingredient management, service, and overall quality led to its exemplary status.

We ordered the seafood handmade dough soup and seafood pancake, starting with side dishes like pickled radish and kimchi.

The seafood pancake arrived first, thick and delicious, making us forget to chat as we savored every bite.

It was especially enjoyable due to the generous amount of seafood.

Next came the seafood handmade dough soup, which had a deep flavor thanks to the clam broth and generous portions.

The dough soup is available for two servings or more, and with the seafood pancake, we were quite full.

I was impressed by the cat-themed decor on the walls. During busy times, guests may have to wait, but they can enjoy playing with the cats while waiting.

Raccoon's Haven combines the rustic charm of a log cabin, spicy seafood handmade dough soup, and thick seafood pancakes, all set against a backdrop of nature and cats, making it a must-visit in Geumsan.

I highly recommend trying the seafood handmade dough soup and seafood pancake if you visit Geumsan.
