A Journey Connecting Tea and Ceramics in South Jeolla Province... Run by Kang Hae-young's 'TEA STAY Family'

- Operating a 1-night, 2-day themed tourism product connecting the tourist resources of Haenam, Gangjin, and Yeongam -

The Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation announced that it operated the themed tourism product 'TEA STAY Family' from the 11th to the 12th as part of the 'Kang Hae-young Project,' which connects the tourism resources of Haenam, Gangjin, and Yeongam with stay-based tourism content.

This program was designed to allow tourists to experience the charm of tea culture, ceramics, local cuisine, and nature-based accommodation, moving away from the traditional travel model of simply visiting major tourist sites.

A total of 10 participants visited the Gangjin Chilyang Onggi pottery workshop on the first day, where they listened to stories about the space and the artist. They then moved to the Haenam Seoladawon tea plantation, where they selected tea and enjoyed the aromas, deepening their understanding of Haenam's tea culture.

Afterward, they enjoyed a forest walk at the Haenam Suhui Resort. On the second day, they visited the Yeongam Dogapsa Temple, exploring the site with a guide. They continued to the pottery workshop 'Arariyo' for a mini-lecture on white porcelain and a plate-making experience, concluding their schedule with a garden tour at Yeongam Saesil.

Offered as a paid product at 200,000 KRW per person, 'TEA STAY Family' uniquely integrates the ceramic culture of Yeongam and Gangjin with the resources and natural healing assets of Haenam into a single narrative experience. Notably, private tourism operators from the three regions collaborated, confirming the potential for cooperative tourism products that enhance inter-regional connections and tourism consumption.

A representative from the Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation stated, "This program goes beyond merely linking individual tourism resources of Haenam, Yeongam, and Gangjin; it is structured to allow participants to experience a specific theme as a cohesive story." They added, "We plan to develop it into a representative stay-based themed tourism product for Kang Hae-young by reflecting the operational results and participant feedback."
