Hello! Today, I want to share my experience visiting Waemok Village Beach, a popular summer getaway in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do.

This beach is particularly attractive because it offers stunning sunrises and sunsets that are rarely seen on the west coast.

At the entrance photo zone of the beach, you'll find a sign that reads 'Sunrise and Sunset at Waemok Village'! Be sure to take a picture inside the heart-shaped frame!

Before your visit, let me guide you through the important information about using Waemok Village Beach in 2026.

The beach will be open from Saturday, July 11, 2026, to Sunday, August 23, 2026, providing you with plenty of time to enjoy the refreshing sea.

The beach hours are set from 10 AM to 7 PM. Please note that swimming outside these hours is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.

To ensure a pleasant and safe beach environment, there are some rules to follow. For instance, it's prohibited to set up personal tents or canopies on the sandy beach for extended periods.

We're also committed to creating a stress-free vacation spot without overcharging, ensuring that all visitors can enjoy their time.

Just beyond the 'Saebit Waemok' sculpture, you'll see another artistic installation that resembles a giant sea lion emerging from the water, adding to the unique atmosphere of Waemok Village.

Sitting on the sandy beach, I observed a couple enjoying the view with this beautiful sculpture and the vast ocean in the background. Their peaceful demeanor prompted me to snap a photo.

Waemok Village Beach is not just a place for swimming; it’s a space filled with emotions where you can appreciate the harmony of sea and art.

Following the instructions of the safety personnel will enhance your experience.

Additionally, for the safety of visitors and the beautiful beach scenery, drone photography is not allowed without permission. If you bring a drone, I recommend putting it away and enjoying the view with your eyes instead.

The moment you step onto the beach, you're greeted by the sound of waves and a flock of seagulls soaring above.

Waemok Village Beach is home to many seagulls, making your walk along the beach feel like a stroll alongside these birds.

The sight of seagulls flying against the ocean backdrop creates perfect photo opportunities.

Another important point to remember is to wear a life jacket. Life jackets are not just swimming gear; they are essential for your safety, so please wear one when entering the water.

One of the biggest joys at Waemok Village Beach is the mudflat experience. Both children and adults can lose track of time while digging for clams and creating special memories.

To participate in the mudflat experience, you must purchase a ticket, which is conveniently available at nearby convenience stores like GS25, CU, and Seven-Eleven.

However, do not enter the mudflat without checking the tide times first. It's safest to go during low tide when the water recedes to maximize your clam-digging experience.

If you forget to check the tide times, you can ask the store clerk where you buy your ticket for the mudflat opening hours.

You can also prepare your own gear like boots and shovels or rent them on-site, so I highly recommend giving it a try!

After enjoying swimming and the mudflat experience, you will likely feel hungry. Fortunately, there are various convenience stores, markets, seafood restaurants, and cozy cafes right behind the beach, making it easy to grab a meal or snack.

Sipping a cool drink while gazing at the open West Sea and sunset viewpoint can feel like a perfect escape from daily stress.

If you're contemplating where to go this summer with family, friends, or a partner, consider heading to Waemok Village Beach in Dangjin!

By adhering to safety rules and operating hours, your time at the beach will surely become an unforgettable summer vacation.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable trip to Dangjin!
