A Resting Spot in Nature,

Goesan Rest Area (towards Changwon)

When driving long distances, the rest areas encountered along the way become delightful oases that provide essential breaks during the journey.

The place I visited this time is the Goesan Rest Area (towards Changwon), surrounded by the pristine nature of Goesan, boasting clean facilities and a variety of food options. From the highway entrance, the mist and greenery embracing the distant mountain ridges created a calming atmosphere even before stepping out of the car.

As soon as I parked and got out, the first thing that caught my eye was the adorable mascots standing in front of the 'Local Food Happiness Market.' The characters, shaped like Goesan's representative specialties—red peppers and crunchy napa cabbage—welcomed me with bright smiles and thumbs up, making me smile in return.

It’s a perfect photo spot for families or couples wanting to capture small memories during their visit.

Behind the mascots, a lush outdoor garden with a charming wooden pavilion and benches provided an ideal space to relax and enjoy the cool breeze, easing the stiffness from driving.

The food zone, which can be considered the highlight of the rest area experience, exceeded expectations with its rich offerings.

The outdoor 'Instant Food' corner featured classic rest area snacks like hot bars, squid, whole potatoes, tteokbokki, and walnut cakes, along with a variety of options including Busan fish cakes and warm 10-won bread.

Next to it, the 'Delicious Dried Fish' shop, enhanced by warm lighting, offered crispy and chewy twisted doughnuts, steaming king dumplings, and fragrant premium peanut bread, alongside Dunkin' Donuts and CU convenience store, making it perfect for satisfying hunger.

Upon entering the food court, I was impressed by the bright and spacious atmosphere.

The dining area, featuring colorful yellow and red chairs, was impeccably clean, and the large ceiling fan helped maintain a comfortable environment. With a diverse menu including Korean, Western, and pork cutlet dishes, it was an excellent place to fill up before embarking on a long journey.

What stood out the most was the thoughtful amenities for visitors.

Next to the information center, the business corner had PCs and multifunction printers for quick tasks, and a 'Customer-Only First Aid Kit' was available for unexpected injuries or pain, showcasing the rest area's attentive service spirit. Additionally, a nursing room was conveniently located nearby.

The Goesan Rest Area's 'Drive-Thru Coffee Shop' allows drivers to quickly recharge with caffeine without leaving their vehicles, making it extremely convenient.

After filling up at the spacious and clean ex-OIL self-service gas station, I felt lighter and ready to head to the next destination.

With comfortable relaxation in nature, abundant snacks, and excellent facilities, I highly recommend stopping by the Goesan Rest Area (towards Changwon) if you're traveling along the highway!
