Inside, tickets can be purchased at a kiosk, with a uniform admission fee of 5,000 won for adults, children, and seniors.
From August 25 to December 31, 2026, the Marine Theme Experience Center will offer a 'Dangjin Love Gift Certificate worth 3,000 won' to paid visitors.
If all prepared gift certificates are exhausted, the event may end early. This initiative aims to support small businesses and revitalize traditional markets through local spending, encouraging a positive economic cycle in the region.
The Marine Theme Experience Center allows visitors to see and feel various marine creatures. It consists of Ocean Safety on the first floor and Ocean Fantasy on the second floor.
It's recommended to explore the first floor before heading up to the second floor.
The entrance features a mural depicting the underwater world, showcasing a stunning view.
On the first floor, visitors can learn about the use of safety equipment for ships, how to use fire extinguishers, and safety rules during ship accidents through various hands-on experiences.
There is a model of Dangjin Lake, and safety rules for passenger ships are posted to educate visitors about safety while boarding.
There are life jackets available to raise awareness, and visitors can experience extinguishing a fire in a cabin as a game.
Information about survival experiences on a deserted island is also exhibited, allowing for indirect experiences.
Although there may not be many occasions to live on a deserted island, it's beneficial to know about survival in case of emergencies.
The Marine Theme Experience Center features a photo zone with a beach where waves crash and starfish abound, along with survival experiences for unexpected emergencies.
On the second floor, there are virtual experience spaces themed around various marine creatures, including a shark cage, jellyfish garden, and searching for whales.
Each experience allows for a closer connection with the sea, which children love.
The starfish beach provides a photo zone for taking pictures against the backdrop of crashing waves and starfish, while visitors can select cards of animals living in our nation's seas to watch videos.
The sardine school experience allows visitors to shine a lantern to see the 'phototropic fish' sardines gather in response to light.
The maze experience involves navigating through a mirror maze to move to the next course.
The Ocean Studio is a space for taking photos while playing with underwater animals, and the shark cage provides a virtual experience of feeling the attack of sharks.
The jellyfish garden allows visitors to learn about toxic jellyfish by touching screens, while Searching for the Giant Whale features a 5,500-inch large screen showing a video of a giant whale defending the peaceful sea from the threat of a giant squid.
The hours of operation are from 9 AM to 6 PM during the summer season (March to November) and from 9 AM to 5 PM during the winter season (December to February).
The center is closed every Monday and on the days of Seollal (Lunar New Year) and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving).
Adjacent to the center is the Sapgyoho Tourist Information Center, where visitors can receive travel guidance and obtain tourism maps and materials.
This fall, while exploring the beautiful Sapgyoho tourist area, admission fees can be used at nearby restaurants and cafes with the received Dangjin Love Gift Certificate.
