Experience the Geochang International Theater Festival
The 36th Geochang International Theater Festival has only one day left.
Since July 31, many people have come from all over the country to enjoy the festival and the water activities at Susungdae.
The parking lot at Susungdae is mostly full during the festival, so we parked at the second parking lot near the wood culture experience center and walked over.
The ancient pine trees on Turtle Rock, a famous landmark of Geochang, convey a sense of mystery as they have endured the test of time.
Due to the risk of drowning in the nearby area, we kindly ask visitors to use the safe water play area at Susungdae.
Our ancestors are said to have enjoyed arts while washing brushes and grinding ink on the flat rocks of Susungdae.
Next to the wood culture experience center, there are playground equipment like slides, making it a great place for children to have fun.
After the heatwave continued until August 7, a refreshing breeze arrived after the start of autumn on August 8, making it much easier to enjoy the theater festival.
In the event zone of the Geochang International Theater Festival, you can receive a digital tourism resident card and win various prizes.
When we went to collect our fans, they recognized us from our visit last week.
Note that the event zone prizes can only be claimed once during the festival.

At the festival, there is a flea market and various experience booths.
Due to a shortage of materials for making traditional Korean hats, we decided to try decorating wooden nameplates instead.
While many regional festivals charge for even minor experiences, Geochang County offers many free activities, which is fantastic!
The wooden nameplate decorating activity allows you to create and take home a nameplate using wooden boards and colorful markers.
It would be nice to write your family motto on the wooden nameplate to take home.
Near the water play area, there is a library where you can borrow books for free.

Many people visited the Geochang Susungdae water play area.
The area is divided into shallow and deep sections, making it enjoyable for both children and adults.
Life jackets are also available for free rental, ensuring a safe water play experience.
Participants in the audience satisfaction survey for the Geochang International Theater Festival will receive a cold ice cup.
On August 8 at 2 PM, a 40-minute mime performance titled "Following the Squeaky Toy Around Geochang" by the company Dojeokdan took place in the grassy square.
The main character, a squeaky toy, communicated with the audience through sounds and mime without speaking, which was fascinating.
Everyone watching the mime performance had happy smiles on their faces, and I felt uplifted as well!
August 9 marks the last day of the 36th Geochang International Theater Festival. There will be various performances and experience programs until the end, so if you have time, I recommend visiting Susungdae to enjoy the festival.
