Hello!

This is Yesan County Office :)

Are you pondering where to travel this summer vacation?

Sometimes, landscapes that you might have overlooked become magical when you hear their stories!

We would like to introduce you to an unforgettable 'learning journey' at Sudoksa Temple, which is rich in a thousand years of history and culture.

Sudoksa Temple is a serene Buddhist temple nestled at the foot of Deoksung Mountain, believed to have been founded during the Baekje period, making it a thousand-year-old temple.

With numerous national treasures and fascinating stories accumulated over the years, every step you take here is filled with opportunities for learning.

As you enter Sudoksa, the first thing that captures your attention is the 'Daeungjeon' (Main Hall). Built during the Goryeo Dynasty under King Chungnyeol, it is considered one of the oldest wooden structures in Korea.

Instead of colorful and ornate decorations, it retains the rustic beauty of the wood itself, bringing a sense of tranquility just by looking at it.

In the clear nature surrounding Sudoksa, every step you take reveals beautiful landscapes and deep history, making it a perfect spot to enjoy both learning and relaxation during your summer vacation.

If you wish to experience the profound stories embedded in Sudoksa more vividly, consider joining a cultural tourism guide.

In Yesan County, we have deployed ten cultural tourism guides to provide domestic and international visitors with opportunities to understand, appreciate, and experience the value of our local cultural heritage through detailed and friendly free explanations about various tourist resources, including history, culture, and nature.

Guided areas include Sudoksa, Chunguisan, Chusa's Old House, Daehung Slow City, and Naepo BoBusang Village.

To apply for the service, please contact the Yesan County Cultural Tourism Department.

Note: Please apply at least five days in advance if you are using the internet or phone. Make sure to include your address, name, and contact information.
