A Special Exhibition: 'Long Live the King'

Do you remember the 48th World Heritage Expo held at BEXCO in Haeundae recently?
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about and experience the diverse world heritage of our country, appreciating its unique beauty and charm.
Now, while we look back with a sense of longing, the expo has successfully concluded.
However, there is an exhibition that fills that void at the Busan Museum.
It is the special exhibition titled 'Long Live the King'!
We invite you to explore the beauty of our ancient history through this exhibition.
A special exhibition suitable for children, 'Long Live the King' showcases the culture of the Joseon Dynasty.
You can learn about the actions of the kings and the events that took place in the country through various artifacts and records that have survived over time.
Additionally, this exhibition features royal cultural heritage such as royal seals, ceremonial books, and records of royal protocols.
The royal seal is a ceremonial stamp created to praise the achievements of the queen or crown prince, while the ceremonial book records the associated rites.
The records detail important royal events with written and illustrated accounts.
Through this, visitors can gain a concrete understanding of how royal ceremonies and events were conducted.
The 'Long Live the King' special exhibition will run from July 7 to August 30, 2026, at the Busan Museum's exhibition hall.
Admission is free, and parking is available at the designated lot right in front of the museum.
Visiting the museum with children can be challenging when explaining each artifact, but rather than striving for perfect understanding, I found it more effective to explore what caught my child's attention together.
What I appreciated about this exhibition was the variety of exhibits, from cultural records that might seem unfamiliar to children to artifacts that symbolize royal culture.
If parents engage with their children and provide simple explanations, this exhibition will surely be enjoyable for kids!
After the exhibition, there is a small gift shop right outside.
Although it's small, the products inside reflect the unique charm of our culture!
From towels to keychains, stickers, and pens, there are various souvenirs, including miniatures of the famous statue of the Buddha.
The 'Long Live the King' exhibition is not only about the records and artifacts of the Joseon Dynasty but also encourages curiosity and conversation with your child about history.
I hope you visit this special exhibition with your children by August 30.
