Recently, I visited the stunning Byeolbaram Hill on Gamak Mountain, where purple waves of flowers create a breathtaking view!
Allow me to share my delightful experience filled with visual and culinary pleasures.
On September 19, I drove my car to the second parking lot after obtaining a permit through the town office reservation. I enjoyed a leisurely walk past beautiful chrysanthemums, fully absorbing the refreshing autumn scent.
On my visit yesterday, September 24, I parked comfortably at the Nam Sang Industrial Complex and took a shuttle bus to Byeolbaram Hill. It was incredibly convenient to reach the summit without the usual traffic hassle! Thanks to the benefits for local residents, my visit was even more enjoyable.
Currently, Gamak Mountain is adorned with vibrant purple asters, creating a magnificent scene. The feather-like clouds against the blue autumn sky, the giant wind turbines, and the endless purple flower waves combine to create an exotic landscape reminiscent of a foreign hill.
Under the green pine trees, the blooming chrysanthemums add to the deepening autumn ambiance. Why not embark on a flower journey at Gamak Mountain and experience the charm and subtlety of nature?
As people gathered under the outdoor tents to admire the flowers, a busking stage emerged, featuring a guitarist singing sweet melodies. The music floated gently over the purple hills, accompanied by the stunning view of Geochang and the lush mountains behind.
During the months of July and August, visitors are welcomed by a variety of seasonal flowers like purple wildflowers, bellflowers, and hydrangeas.
Near the shuttle bus area, various food trucks offer delicious local dishes at reasonable prices, enhancing the joy of the trip. I savored warm, chewy rice cake soup and refreshing apple bibimbap, which made my visit to Gamak Mountain even more delightful. I highly recommend trying these dishes!
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Sinwon-myeon Youth Village Women’s Association and the Nam Sang Women’s Association, our journey was not only visually satisfying but also fulfilling in taste. I sincerely appreciate their hard work!
The beautiful festival we enjoyed today is the result of many people's efforts. Just ten years ago, in 2016, this area was quiet, with only paragliding enthusiasts and New Year sunrise seekers. However, thanks to a brilliant idea from a public servant and the dedicated efforts of the local women’s associations, it has transformed into this wonderful attraction.
For a pleasant visit, I recommend making a reservation and using the shuttle bus to avoid any traffic issues. It can be a bit chilly at the summit, so bringing a light jacket is advisable. Non-reserved vehicles and bicycles are restricted.
Local residents can enjoy various benefits, including free access (with ID). Currently, reservations for personal vehicles are full, but the convenient shuttle bus runs every five minutes, making it a comfortable experience!
This weekend, consider taking a healing trip to Byeolbaram Hill at Gamak Mountain, where the dazzling purple asters and delicious local foods await you. Highly recommended!
