Haru Donkatsu is located at 18, Guam-gil, Gwanghye-won-myeon, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. The operating hours are from 11 AM to 7 PM, with a break time from 2 PM to 4:30 PM.
As a designated exemplary restaurant, Haru Donkatsu can be trusted for a visit. Being a well-established eatery in the area, it was well-maintained, and with a variety of menu items, it was perfect for a hearty meal. It’s worth noting that it has been recognized as an exemplary restaurant.
The parking lot was spacious, making it convenient for those visiting by car. There was ample parking space, so even during busy meal times, finding a parking spot wasn’t difficult, making it suitable for families or groups traveling together. Having a wide parking area right in front of the restaurant allowed for an easy transition from parking to dining.
The interior of the restaurant was clean and comfortable, featuring not only standard seating but also separate enclosed spaces without doors. The main dining area had tables for groups, while the separated spaces were ideal for enjoying a more intimate meal with family or friends. It was a pleasant environment for both solo diners and groups.
Each table was equipped with salt, spoons, chopsticks, paper cups, and napkins, allowing us to prepare for our meal as soon as we sat down. During our visit, the main dining area was full, so we were seated in a separate enclosed space. Once seated, water was promptly served, enabling us to start our meal without needing to request anything.
The menu featured various types of donkatsu, including Haru Donkatsu, Gyoyang-sik Donkatsu, and Cheese Donkatsu, along with side dishes. With a variety of donkatsu options, it was easy to choose according to our preferences. We ordered Haru Donkatsu and Cheese Donkatsu to sample multiple dishes, along with a curry sauce to complement the donkatsu. Having both the classic and cheese variants allowed us to enjoy different flavors, and I was excited to explore various combinations with the curry sauce.
As for the side dishes, we were served pickled radish, cucumber pickles, corn salad, and udon broth. These side dishes complemented the donkatsu well, allowing us to taste them even before the main dishes arrived. The tangy cucumber pickles and radish were delightful with the donkatsu, while the corn salad was a refreshing addition. The warm udon broth paired excellently with the crispy donkatsu, enhancing the overall dining experience.
As we chatted while waiting, our ordered donkatsu began to arrive. The food came out quickly, appearing freshly fried and very appetizing. The donkatsu was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfect for enjoying while still warm.
The Haru Donkatsu was served with two pieces of pork loin, cut into bite-sized portions, so we didn't need to ask for scissors or a knife. The thickly fried pieces looked delicious, with a crispy exterior and soft pork inside. They were easy to pick up and enjoyable with rice and the side dishes.
The Cheese Donkatsu was also pre-cut into manageable pieces, filled generously with cheese. It came with rice and salad, making for a hearty meal. The sauce, made with the standard donkatsu sauce, sesame seeds, and mustard, added a nutty flavor that paired well with the donkatsu.
We also ordered the curry sauce, which was enjoyable both as a dip for the donkatsu and mixed with the rice. It offered a different flavor profile, allowing us to savor the donkatsu in various ways. Dipping the crispy donkatsu in curry sauce added a unique twist, while mixing it with rice turned it into a delightful curry rice experience.
Ordering both Haru Donkatsu and Cheese Donkatsu was a great choice, as each dish had its unique appeal, allowing us to enjoy a delicious meal until the very end.
High chairs were available, making it convenient for those visiting with young children. Donkatsu is a family-friendly dish, making it suitable for family dining, and with high chairs provided, it’s a great place to visit with kids.
