A New Year's Sunrise Hike on Bukhansan's Bibong Peak
With an excited heart, I went on a New Year's sunrise hike on the Bibong course of Bukhansan Mountain.
It was actually my first time hiking for the New Year's sunrise, so I couldn't sleep well the night before. I was nervous about oversleeping, and the excitement of hiking at dawn kept me tossing and turning.
Bibong Course Information & Estimated Time
Course: Dokbanggol Entrance (towards Geumsunsa Temple) → Geumsunsa Temple → Bibong Peak → Rhinoceros Rock → Bibong Ridge → Dokbanggol Entrance
Total Time: Approximately 3 hours 30 minutes - 4 hours (round trip / additional time required on snowy or icy roads)
Difficulty: Intermediate (crampons and trekking poles are essential in winter)
A Record of My First Hike of the New Year
Walking with friends from dawn was comfortable and enjoyable as always. The path wasn't easy due to the heavy snow, but the sunrise at the top of Bibong Peak was a breathtaking moment that compensated for all the effort.

The picture taken at Rhinoceros Rock was especially thrilling and scary, but I think it will be the most adventurous photo of my life. I might never be brave enough to do it again.

"Ah, the New Year has begun!"
Adding another year to my life, I was filled with overwhelming emotion.
Reaffirming my resolution to complete the 100 famous mountains this year, I deeply recorded my first New Year's sunrise on the Bibong course of Bukhansan in my heart.
Memories Together
The laughter with friends I climbed the mountain with, the tension of walking and climbing through the dawn air, and the sunrise I greeted with open arms at the summit... The whole day felt like a gift.
Starting with this New Year's sunrise hike, I want to explore more mountains this year. In particular, I will take steps towards the BAC 100 Famous Mountains Challenge. Like my New Year's resolution at Bukhansan Bibong, I hope that my everyday life will gradually become stronger, and I leave this record behind.
