What is a National Fishing Port?

A fishing port is a harbor where fishing vessels can safely enter and dock, unload catch, supply gear, and take refuge during bad weather. Fishing ports are categorized into national fishing ports, local fishing ports, and fishing village ports.
A national fishing port refers to a fishing port that serves a nationwide purpose or is located in remote areas, used for fishery development and vessel refuge.
The Daemyung Port national fishing port project will proceed as follows:
- 9 billion KRW allocated for design costs in the 2026 government budget.
- Approximately 86.8 billion KRW is expected to be invested from 2027 to 2031.
What projects are planned?
- Construction of a seafood auction house.
- Establishment of a seafood distribution center.
- Construction of a marine leisure complex.
- Securing of port land.
What changes can we expect?
- The project will complement the rural new deal 300 initiative.
