A spontaneous visit to The Hyundai Seoul led to an irresistible stop at the Pierre Hermé macaron and bakery popup.
Despite the premium prices, the experience of choosing macarons, admiring the pastries, and enjoying them while waiting for a restaurant table felt surprisingly satisfying.
This short visit became a sweet pause in the day, proving once again how desserts can turn waiting time into a pleasant memory.
An Unexpected Stop at Pierre Hermé in The Hyundai
A few days ago, I stopped by The Hyundai and, as expected, couldn’t just walk past the Pierre Hermé popup.
Even knowing the prices were on the higher side, my feet naturally led me inside.
We decided to put our name down at the restaurant and spend the waiting time enjoying some macarons.
Bakery Displays That Make You Pause
I was originally supposed to head straight to lunch, but the bakery section completely caught my eye.
The croissants looked incredible, and just looking at them made my mouth water.
It was my first time seeing Pierre Hermé’s bread and pastries in person, and the variety alone was impressive.
Choosing Macarons Over Chocolate
There were also many types of chocolates on display.
For someone like me who doesn’t particularly enjoy chocolate, the prices felt a bit overwhelming.
So we naturally gravitated toward the macarons instead.
We picked four macarons and placed them neatly into a box with our preferred flavors.
Why the Rose Macaron Was an Easy Choice
I always choose rose-flavored macarons at Ladurée, so I didn’t hesitate to pick the rose macaron here as well.
The first rose macaron I ever tried left such a strong impression that I’ve stuck with it ever since.
Seeing that familiar pink color already made me excited.
Simple Packaging, Immediate Enjoyment
The tin case packaging costs more, but since we planned to eat the macarons right away, we chose the paper box.
Honestly, they looked tempting enough that I wanted to eat them all on the spot.
Sometimes simple packaging makes it easier to focus on the taste.
Macarons That Make Waiting Time Feel Short
After finishing the macarons, we headed back to the restaurant where we had registered our names.
As we enjoyed the last bites and looked over the menu, it finally became our turn.
Waiting feels much easier when you have something sweet and satisfying to enjoy.
Will the Macaron Trend Ever Return?
While enjoying the rose macaron, I found myself wondering if the macaron trend would ever come back.
To me, they still taste better than many of the desserts that come and go with trends.
This short Pierre Hermé stop turned an ordinary shopping trip into a memorable little indulgence.
