An exhibition space that bridges the gap between community and art

Paju Peace Museum S827

Located in Jori-eup, the Peace Museum S827 is hosting an exhibition titled 'Closer Together,' sharing experiences across generations and communities.

Both participating artists and visitors enjoy a diverse range of artworks, bringing them closer to the world of art.

Come and experience this newly transformed cultural space and appreciate the artworks.

Arrived at Peace Museum S827 in Jori-eup, Paju City.

It is a 15-minute drive from Paju City Hall, near Bongilcheon Middle School and Bongilcheon High School, with the Gongneung Stream flowing nearby.

A hillside park called 'Mom's Embrace Hill' has been created halfway up the hill, with a single-story building at the top.

This area was once home to a U.S. military base, and the Peace Museum S827 is located on the site of Camp House, a returned military land.

The former U.S. military base is undergoing a city forest creation project.

The Peace Museum S827 opened in March this year as a complex cultural space.

Originally, it was used as a PX supply store during the U.S. military presence, and S827 was its building number.

From the entrance with Mom's Embrace Hill, you can see building numbers composed of the letter 'S' and numbers scattered throughout.

The buildings used during the U.S. military presence have been preserved and renovated to become the Peace Museum.

The opening exhibition in March was 'The Path of Peace: Walking Together,' followed by the second exhibition featuring contemporary Korean printmaking, and now the exhibition 'Closer Together' is underway.

Docent schedules are available every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the exhibition runs from October 8 to November 29, 2026.

Open Thursday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closed Monday to Wednesday and on public holidays. Admission is free.

The 'Closer Together' exhibition features 18 invited artists, 30 local artists from Paju, and 12 student artists.

In the spacious 107 square meter exhibition hall, various genres of artworks are displayed, including metal crafts, woodworking, watercolor, oil painting, and calligraphy.

This exhibition, organized by the Paju Cultural Foundation, aims to reflect on the significance of the Peace Museum S827 as a symbol of peace for the community and artists.

The theme of bridging locations transcends generational and regional differences, using art as a medium for understanding and connection.

The collaboration between external invited artists and local Paju artists, along with the participation of local high school students, breaks down barriers between artists and non-artists.

This thoughtfully planned exhibition allows visitors to also experience an exchange of artistic worlds.

The exhibition 'Closer Together' will run until November 29 at the Peace Museum S827.

It is a space where established and emerging artists meet through their works, narrowing the distance between their artistic expressions.

As a new cultural space in Paju, it is gradually integrating into the community.

Enjoy this beautiful autumn by stepping out for a cultural outing.
