Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Korean Liberation Day

In commemoration of the upcoming 80th anniversary of Liberation Day,
We reflect on August 15, 1945, the day we reclaimed our national sovereignty from Japan.
We invite all Muan County residents to participate in displaying the Taegeukgi (Korean flag) with a patriotic heart!
Please display the Taegeukgi at your homes from 07:00 to 18:00.
According to Article 8 of the Republic of Korea Flag Act, the Taegeukgi can be displayed every day, 24 hours a day.
However, it should not be displayed if there is a concern that the dignity of the flag may be damaged due to severe rain or wind (bad weather).
In the case of temporary bad weather, display it after the weather clears or take it down and put it up again.
Location for Displaying the Taegeukgi at Home:
When viewed from the outside, display it in the center or on the left side of the gate (or the balcony of each household in the case of apartments and other multi-dwelling units).
In the case of multi-dwelling units where flagpoles are not installed for each household, display it at the ground-level entrance of each building.
※ If unavoidable due to the structure of the house, the location for displaying the Taegeukgi can be adjusted. It is also possible to attach the Taegeukgi to a window or front door.
※ When displaying with children, be careful to prevent safety accidents.
※ In high-rise buildings such as apartments, be careful that the Taegeukgi displayed on the balcony does not fall due to strong winds and lead to an accident.
Purchasing the Taegeukgi:
You can purchase it through the civil service offices of local governments (city, county, and district offices, and town and village community centers), and online flag sales companies.
Contaminated or damaged Taegeukgi can be placed in the flag collection boxes installed in the civil service offices and community centers of local governments.
Muan County will also commemorate the dedication of patriotic ancestors and participate in the raising of the Taegeukgi!
