2025 LoL World Championship: Earn Your Legacy!

Hello everyone! The festival for LoL fans worldwide, the 2025 LoL World Championship, has finally kicked off!
Under the inspiring theme of 'Earn Your Legacy,' this year's tournament is especially significant as it celebrates the 15th anniversary of LoL esports.
The world is already buzzing after yesterday's (October 14th) Play-In elimination match between LCK's T1 and LPL's Invictus Gaming (IG).
Today (October 16th), the Swiss Stage is in full swing.
Let's dive into the thrilling journey of Worlds and see which teams will emerge victorious and advance to the next round!

What makes the 2025 Worlds so special?
This year's LoL World Championship isn't just a tournament; it's a special event commemorating the 15th anniversary of LoL esports.
Therefore, under the theme of 'Earn Your Legacy,' the journey of players creating their own legacies will shine even brighter.
A notable change is the reduction in participating teams from 20 to 17.
With the integration of leagues like PCS and VCS, LCS and LLA, and CBLOL, the number of leagues has been reorganized from eight to five.
Another significant change is the potential introduction of the Fearless Draft rule.
Champions used in a set can no longer be used by that team, making champion pools and strategies even more crucial for players.
These are truly exciting changes, aren't they?

T1 vs IG: A thrilling Play-In opening match
Before the tournament even began, there was one match that captured everyone's attention, wasn't there?
That was the Play-In Stage showdown between T1 and Invictus Gaming (IG), which took place yesterday, October 14th, at 5 PM.
The clash between LCK's 4th seed T1 and LPL's 4th seed IG was truly considered a legendary big match.
As many fans may remember, the last time these two teams faced off was at MSI in 2019.
Since T1 unfortunately lost at that time, this match was also seen as a kind of 'revenge match'.
Fortunately, T1 won 3-1, securing their advancement to the Swiss Stage!
This match was a best-of-five (BO5) series and featured the Fearless Draft rule, where champions were not banned, leading to an intense display of skill that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

Now, it's the Swiss Stage! Key dates and advancing teams
Even before the excitement from T1's victory could die down, the highly anticipated Swiss Stage is underway from October 15th to October 25th, including today, Thursday, October 16th!
Sixteen teams will compete across five rounds.
The first eight teams to achieve three wins will advance to the Knockout Stage, while the first teams to suffer three losses will be unfortunately eliminated.
The first-round matches were played in a single-game format (Bo1), and the rule was that teams from the same region would not face each other.
Starting from the second round, best-of-three (Bo3) matches will be held, promising even more excitement.
From our LCK, Gen.G (Gen.G), Hanwha Life Esports (HLE), and KT Rolster (KT) have directly advanced to the Swiss Stage, and with T1 winning the Play-In yesterday, a total of four teams are competing for the top spot.
Key matchups include VKS vs TSW, CFO vs FNC, KT vs MKOI, BLG vs 100T, FLY vs T1, HLE vs AL, G2 vs TES, and GEN vs PSG.
I'm really looking forward to today's matches!
