Starbucks Launches Dubai Chocolate Drink and New Dessert

Starbucks Dubai Chocolate Drink
Have you heard the news? Starbucks is launching a new dessert called Dujunku!
Following cafes and convenience stores, and now joining Paris Baguette, Ediya, and Dunkin', we can finally enjoy Dubai's chewy cookie at Starbucks.
It's amazing that the Dubai chocolate craze, which I thought would end two years ago, has been revived with Dujunku!
Before tasting it, I wondered what the fuss was about, but after trying it, the crispy and chewy texture was so delicious that I couldn't stop thinking about it.
Let me provide detailed information about where to find Starbucks Dujunku and the release of the Dubai chocolate drink.
Starbucks Dujunku Launch
The Dujunku is a mini dessert wrapped in marshmallow, featuring crispy kadaif and nutty pistachio paste. The official release date is January 30.
Previously, convenience stores and other franchises used glutinous rice cakes for a chewy texture, but Starbucks has opted for real marshmallows.
Interestingly, unlike typical desserts that are rolled into round shapes, this one resembles kimbap or sushi rolls.
Since it's wrapped in marshmallow, I expect it to have a smooth texture rather than a stretchy one.
Many people enjoy the chewy texture of glutinous rice cakes, so if you prefer that, you might find the Starbucks Dujunku a bit disappointing, but it seems like a high-quality treat.
The official website does not specify the size, but most are expected to be around 50-60g.
Where to Find Starbucks Dujunku
The price of Starbucks Dujunku is 7,200 won each.
It's a limited quantity item, with a maximum purchase of two per person.
Not all stores will carry it, so be sure to check before you visit.
Locations selling Starbucks Dujunku include:
- Gwanghwamun Reserve
- Starfield COEX R
- Yongsan Station Summit R
- Centerfield R
- Seongsu Station
- Hongdae Donggyo
In total, there are six locations.
Since these will be sold at Starbucks Reserve stores and popular areas like Seongsu and Hongdae, it might be difficult to get your hands on this new product.
For those living outside Seoul, how are they supposed to get it? They should consider expanding the number of sales locations!
However, it seems they are limiting production due to the supply and quality of kadaif and pistachios.
This product can only be purchased by ordering directly from store partners, and cannot be ordered through external channels like Siren Order, DT Zone, or delivery services.
You must visit the store to place an order, so there might be a wait on the first day of release. They typically open at 7 AM, so I suspect they will sell out quickly.
I plan to visit after seeing some reviews, as I love Dujunku but don't have the confidence to go early in the morning.
But I believe it will taste great since it contains marshmallow!
I'm curious about how moist the pistachio spread will be and how well the texture of the kadaif will come through.
Since it's set to launch on January 30, those interested should check the sales locations ahead of time.
Additionally, next month, two new Dubai menu items are also set to be released, including iced Dubai chocolate mocha and matcha.
I heard from Instagram that the chocolate flavor is stronger compared to pistachio, and adding pistachio syrup balances the bitterness.
It has a luxurious chocolate foam flavor mixed with Baskin Robbins pistachio sauce, which seems to divide opinions.
I plan to try the matcha version.
Imagine how delicious it would be to enjoy the Starbucks Dubai chocolate drink with the dessert!
Next week, I should visit the Hongdae Donggyo store to try to get a Dujunku. If I'm lucky enough to find one, I'll share my review!
