With the cold weather lately, indoor dates have become quite popular. While many go to board game cafes and comic cafes, there’s also the option of visiting a room cafe!
Today, I’m sharing my experience at the Gunja Roommate Cafe.
Upon arriving at the cafe, which is located on the 4th floor of the Sushi O building, I was impressed by the affordable price of 9,000 KRW per person. This includes unlimited access to Netflix, movies, board games, and a self-service snack bar!
This place is perfect for a winter date!
As soon as you enter, there’s a shoe rack where you can take off your shoes. Right next to it is the counter, which has a variety of snacks available for unlimited consumption, including marshmallows, Oreos, and cookies. It’s an excellent spot for families with kids!
One unique feature of Roommate is that they offer cake! Unlike most room cafes that only provide snacks, they have several types of cakes available. During my visit, I saw cheesecake, blueberry cake, tiramisu, and Oreo cake. Each room accommodates two people with one slice of cake, and additional slices can be purchased for 2,000 KRW each.
They also have a ramen machine where you can buy ramen for 2,000 KRW each. The aroma of the ramen being cooked by other guests was incredibly tempting!
The cafe offers a variety of drinks, including coffee, juice, and slushies, so you can choose your favorites.
In addition to the impressive snack selection, there are numerous board games available for guests to enjoy. You can grab one and play for hours!
For those who feel cold, blankets are available at the counter, although the indoor temperature was quite warm during my visit.
The cafe has around 23 rooms, so even if it gets busy, you won’t have to wait long to enter a room. I was assigned to Room 9, which was cozy and well-equipped with large cushions, a table, and a TV. The room could comfortably accommodate about four people.
Guests are allowed to bring in outside food, so you can enjoy takeout or delivery while relaxing in the cafe. I had a light snack and watched Netflix, making for a delightful afternoon.
Overall, Gunja Roommate Cafe is a fantastic place to enjoy a warm and fun indoor date during these chilly days. With its unlimited self-service bar, the option for delivery food, and access to board games, it’s hard not to recommend this place!
I plan to visit again soon for a full day of fun!
