Exploring Wagle Wagle Bake Shop Near DDP

My close sister and I decided to visit the Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition at DDP, and we stumbled upon a charming café called Wagle Wagle Bake Shop, which features an exotic interior. We couldn't resist stopping by.
It's located within a 5-minute walk from Exit 14 of Dongdaemun History Park Station, tucked away behind the National Medical Center.
Parking is available at the paid parking lot of the National Medical Center, with the first 30 minutes free.
The exterior blends well with the surrounding buildings and roads, giving it a unique vibe.
The interior is not very large but is clean and has a kitschy decor. Upon entering, there's a display of baked goods on the right, with the baking area to the left and tables scattered throughout.
It was quite busy, and while I couldn't take photos, there were many closely set tables, accommodating a decent number of guests. We visited around 3 PM on a Saturday, and luckily found a two-person table available, while larger groups waited standing for a spot.
It seems they have a system where you wait inside for a table to become available.
The 'Croisbagel' appears to be a collaboration between croissant and bagel. The vibrant color of the Croisbagel immediately catches your eye.
Even though it was only 3 PM, many items were already sold out. On weekends, popular menu items tend to run out as the afternoon progresses.
I chose a Basil Cream Cheese Croisbagel (7.2) and a Red Devil Croisbagel (5.9) filled with 100% cream, chocolate, and cherry flavors.
I also ordered a warm Americano (4.5) and a latte (5.0). The drink prices are quite reasonable.
If you write a review, they offer a homemade French butter cookie. The packaging is adorable, and many people take their orders to go.
When I asked if we should warm our items in the microwave, they recommended enjoying them as is, suggesting that the Croisbagel without cream could be warmed instead.
Review of the Basil Cream Cheese & Red Devil Croisbagel:
The Red Devil has a snake-like pattern. When I sliced into it, the texture was crispy, and there was a generous amount of cream inside.
Though I made it bite-sized, it didn't look as appealing. Personally, I didn't find the texture to be chewy like a bagel; it felt more like a croissant. It seems the name 'Croisbagel' comes from its bagel-like appearance.
The Basil Cream Cheese had a strong basil flavor, complemented by the cream cheese's saltiness, with occasional bites of tomato balancing the saltiness. It's a familiar flavor for basil lovers.
The cream in the Red Devil was closer to a cherry color, but the flavor leaned more towards chocolate with a subtle hint of cherry. I found this flavor to be surprisingly enjoyable!
The combination of the savory Basil Croisbagel and the sweet Red Devil was delightful. While I haven't tried many items, the flavors weren't particularly unique, but the Croisbagel itself is a signature item worth trying if you're in the area. The decor is lovely, and the view of the National Medical Center gives a park-like atmosphere, making it a great spot to visit during quiet weekday hours.
This was my experience at Wagle Wagle Bake Shop near Dongdaemun History Park Station.
