On a rainy day, we decided to visit Berry Bliss, a café frequently featured on Instagram, after contemplating where to enjoy soufflé pancakes and premium fruit desserts in Mapo. Located about a 7-8 minute walk from Exit 8 of Hongdae Station, it was quite convenient.
As expected from a Mapo café, the entrance exuded a charming atmosphere. The efficient order and pickup system from the first to the second floor made it easy to enjoy our time there. The spacious area with large windows and stylish tree decorations provided a perfect backdrop for photos.
Being the weekend, the café was bustling with groups of women, couples, and friends, especially on the outdoor terrace where many enjoyed desserts surrounded by plants. The entire café was clean and quiet, making it an ideal spot for conversation.
The menu was impressively diverse, featuring items like Kyoto Matcha Mochi Soufflé, Strawberry Mochi Soufflé Pancakes, Strawberry Parfait, Pudding Mochi Soufflé Pancakes, and Pudding Parfait! They mentioned that the menu changes slightly with the seasons, so I look forward to trying the fig soufflé next time.
After much deliberation, we ordered the Strawberry Mochi Soufflé Pancake, Strawberry Parfait, and Fresh Strawberry Juice. Each dish was visually stunning, perfect for Instagram, making photo-taking a delight.
The first to arrive was the Strawberry Mochi Soufflé Pancake! Made fresh upon order, the soufflé was fluffy and adorable, with a wonderfully soft texture. The chewy mochi paired with strawberries was sweet yet not overwhelming, especially when complemented with fresh strawberries and Häagen-Dazs ice cream, resulting in a highly satisfying experience.
The Strawberry Parfait was generously layered with fresh strawberries, cream, and ice cream, bursting with freshness with every bite. Despite being a dessert, it was light and easy to enjoy, striking a perfect balance between sweetness and cleanliness.
The Fresh Strawberry Juice was refreshing, capturing the essence of strawberries without any artificial sweetness. All three items utilized premium fruits, clearly reflecting their value in the pricing. It’s rare to find such quality desserts in Mapo.
Notably, Berry Bliss has ample space on both floors, making it great for groups, while the cozy ambiance is perfect for dates or gatherings. The restrooms were clean, reflecting the overall well-maintained environment.
I heard that this place is popular for brunch recommendations near Hapjeong Station, and indeed, many visitors were coming from Hongdae Station or Yeontral Park for desserts. Parking is not available in front of the store, so using nearby public parking or public transport is advisable.
Next time, I’d love to try the Kyoto Matcha Mochi Soufflé or Pudding Mochi Soufflé, and I’m excited about the seasonal menu changes. Above all, the staff were busy yet friendly, and the smooth flow from ordering to pickup made for a pleasant visit.
