Exterior & Interior Atmosphere
As its name suggests, The Corner House sits right on a corner, making the white-toned exterior easy to spot. A beautifully decorated tree at the entrance adds a festive, year-end mood.
Inside, the warm wood-toned interior immediately feels luxurious. The tables are well-spaced, making it ideal for comfortable dining, meetings, or celebrations.
I made a reservation in advance and was seated on the terrace side. Despite the winter season, blankets and heaters were provided at each table, showing impressive attention to detail.
Chef Background & Dining Concept
The chef at The Corner House previously worked as a head chef at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, LA, serving steaks and pasta to international guests.
In Korea, he has over five years of experience as head chef at Chosun Palace Hotel. With more than 20 years spent in the US and refined skills from Korean luxury hotels, he presents American-style dining using a wood-fired grill.
Course Menu & Pricing
The lunch set menu costs 60,000 KRW per person, including bread, salad, pasta, main dish, sides, dessert, and coffee. Considering the Apgujeong area, the value is impressive.
The dinner set menu is 139,000 KRW, featuring a generous 500g steak and a bottle of wine, making it ideal for special occasions.
The wine list is well-curated, and corkage is available for 30,000 KRW.
Starters & Main Dishes
For drinks, we could choose between Sapporo beer or perilla leafade. We chose the perilla leafade, which was refreshing with a subtle herbal note.
Instead of standard bread, homemade naan with chimichurri sauce was served. The crispy naan paired beautifully with the herbaceous, tangy chimichurri, making an excellent appetizer.
The Caesar salad featured fresh romaine, crispy croutons, onion chips, bacon, and grilled mini cabbage, creating a satisfying balance of textures.
The seafood tomato pasta included large shrimp, clams, octopus, and jicama pickles. The tomato sauce was well-balanced and clearly homemade, with no fishy flavors at all.
The dry-aged sirloin steak, aged for over 21 days, was served with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. I ordered it medium-rare, and the doneness was checked carefully.
The grilled vegetables had a deep smoky flavor, and the mashed potatoes retained a coarse texture, making them creamy, nutty, and perfectly suited to the steak.
Dessert & Overall Experience
For dessert, pineapple sorbet provided a refreshing finish, followed by warm Americano and rooibos tea.
From start to finish, the course was well-paced, with attentive service and thoughtful timing. Water glasses were never left empty, and the chef personally greeted each table.
If you’re searching for a high-quality steak restaurant in Apgujeong Rodeo with excellent service and atmosphere, The Corner House is a strong recommendation.
