A Memorable Trip to Seoul

After moving from Jeju to Seoul, I immediately checked into the Westin Chosun Seoul. The lobby was beautifully decorated with a gold Christmas theme. I stayed for four nights on the ninth floor.
I insisted my husband visit Cafe Delcotone in Bukchon, and the espresso lemonade was incredibly delicious!
It was early December, and the weather felt quite autumnal. The chilly air lifted my spirits. There's something charming about the cold, but I only enjoy it for about a week after arriving in Seoul. Honestly, I dislike winter.
On December 3rd, the temperature dropped to -10 degrees. The night before, I stopped by the Myeongdong Lululemon to buy a sports top because I wanted to go for a city run. I quickly dressed and jogged along the stone wall paths.
It was freezing, so I immediately went indoors to the gym. It was my first time at the Westin gym, which had all TechnoGym equipment. It reminded me of the gym in my old apartment complex in Korea before moving to Singapore. Those memories feel like a long time ago.
At a bakery, I encountered an issue with finding hair in my bread. The next day, when I reported it, the staff quickly refunded me through a personal account. They seemed overwhelmed but handled it well, even though I didn’t have the card I used for payment.
I met my mom and sister at a cafe in Yangjaecheon. The food was great, but I forgot the name of the place. It had a lovely interior and a delicious brunch menu, perfect for a casual visit.
For dessert, we went to a nearby donut shop, and it was freezing that day. My sister had a smoothie, showcasing her youth.
At Dining Sangseok, we enjoyed a course menu, and the signature dish was a pastry with basil cream, tomato, and ham. It was decent, but not as exceptional as I had hoped. Still, it was nice to have a private lunch with a friend and savor the courses.
Unfortunately, I couldn't do laundry at the hotel due to the exorbitant prices. In Bali, you could do laundry for 5,000 won per 3 kg, but in Korea, it costs 3,000 won for just one shirt!
After dinner in Gwanghwamun, it started snowing, which was delightful. People were making snowmen, and while the roads would be icy the next day, I enjoyed the moment.
After four nights, I moved to the Fairmont Ambassador in Yeouido for the remaining five nights. It was larger and had modern facilities.
We met up with a friend who came from Busan at the hotel cafe. Although he is my husband's friend, I've known him for ten years.
We decided to have sashimi in Noryangjin, but the popular places were too crowded. Luckily, we found a decent restaurant.
Afterward, we visited the Fairmont's 29th-floor lounge, which offered stunning views of the Han River and the night skyline. I opted for a non-alcoholic drink.
The breakfast at Fairmont was delicious. I kept waiting for strawberries to be served, so I bought some from a department store, only to find strawberries available the next day.
We had a lovely time at a restaurant where we had to be careful not to order too little. It was a day to listen to my sister's concerns.
They had a fun event where we could win discounts, and we all ended up with a 1,000 won discount.
We then moved to Mild High Club, a cozy place in Apgujeong that served coffee and snacks. We enjoyed fries and coffee together.
Finally, I visited Noryangjin 101, where you can eat high-quality sushi for a flat fee. It was satisfying to eat nearly 20 pieces!
At a cafe near the Express Bus Terminal, we ordered bingsu, and I found the unique way of serving it in ceramic cups quite interesting.
Before my husband returned to Singapore, we visited the International Electronics Center, which is becoming a new hotspot. We found a small Akihabara-like area filled with collectible shops.
It was fascinating to explore, but we eventually retreated as we were unsure of what to buy.
