A Charming Dessert Cafe in Daejeon: De Blume Review

Today, I'm posting about <De Blume>, a delightful dessert cafe located in Seonhwa-dong's Seonhwa-dangil area in Daejeon.
1. Introduction to De Blume
De Blume is a beautifully renovated house cafe in Seonhwa-dong, Daejeon.
I believe De Blume opened before 2020.
I remember seeing it while taking walks around the neighborhood back then, which is around the time I moved to Seoul.
This time, I went down to my hometown, Daejeon, and visited this pretty cafe to write a blog post about it.
They mainly sell fresh mango ice cream, ice cream lattes, and matcha ice cream as their main desserts.
You can get a 500 KRW discount for take-out Americano and a 300 KRW discount if you use a tumbler!
So, if you bring a tumbler and take out an Americano, you get an 800 KRW discount!
De Blume's operating hours are from 10 AM to 10:30 PM.
It is closed every Monday.
2. De Blume Location & Parking
De Blume's address is 78, Jungang-ro 79beon-gil, Jung-gu, Daejeon.
It's a 6-minute walk from Exit 1 of Jung-gu Office Station (Daejeon Subway Line 1).
De Blume is located in Seonhwa-dangil, and there is no dedicated parking lot. We were lucky enough to find an empty spot in the parking lot right in front of the cafe.
3. Inside & Outside of De Blume
De Blume is a cafe created by renovating a house.
The building is painted in white, making it stand out.
The outdoor terrace seats on the first floor are very charming, atmospheric, and beautiful!
It's too hot to use the outdoor seats these days, but I think they'll be very popular in the cool spring and fall weather.
The orange trumpet creeper flowers that bloom in summer, the blue sky, and the white tables and chairs made for a truly beautiful photo.
Actually, it was very hot that day because the sunlight was so strong, but I was so happy to go inside the cafe and feel the cool air conditioning.
The sunlight coming into the cafe was very warm and beautiful, making the overall atmosphere of the cafe feel bright.
We went around 3 PM on a weekend, and the cafe was full, so we had to wait a bit.
Fortunately, a seat became available quickly, so we were able to sit down.
There were very cute dolls and flowers for gifts displayed in the cafe, and they were all pretty.
It was as pretty as the cafes in Seogyo-dong or Yeonhui-dong in Seoul.
Even though it's been open for quite some time, it was very clean without any stains, like a new cafe that had just been renovated.
One of the advantages of Daejeon is that the buildings are all low in the downtown area, so you can see the sky well.
That's why I like my hometown, Daejeon.

5. Honest Taste Review
We ordered the fresh mango ice cream, matcha ice cream, New York cheesecake, and butter cookies.
We received the whipped cream scone for leaving a Naver receipt review.
First of all, the fresh mango ice cream was visually stunning!
The rich and smooth taste of the milk itself was excellent. The fresh and sweet mango toppings perfectly balanced the potentially rich flavor, and I really enjoyed it because the fruit was fresh and sweet.
It felt like the heat was gone as soon as I took a bite on a hot day.
I love matcha ice cream so much! The bittersweet and deep flavor of matcha spread throughout my mouth,
It was much richer than typical matcha ice cream, so I was really satisfied.
Matcha can sometimes have a fishy smell, but this one didn't have any fishy smell, so it was delicious.
I alternated between the mango and matcha ice cream, and they were a perfect pairing because they had different charms.
I highly recommend the New York Cheesecake for those who like rich cheesecake!
As soon as I took a bite, I could feel the rich flavor of the cheese, and the dense yet soft texture was truly excellent.
It's a bit similar to Tiramisu. Highly recommended for those who like Tiramisu.
You can't leave out scones when it comes to dessert! De Blume's whipped cream scone was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.
It was the perfect dessert to enjoy with coffee.
Lastly, the butter ring cookie! It's a cookie that I usually eat, but De Blume's butter ring cookie was something special.
The rich buttery aroma, the crispy texture, and the subtle sweetness were perfectly harmonized.
I liked the feeling of washing away the dryness when I felt that the cookies and cakes were a little dry.
6. Nearby Cafes, Restaurants, and Tourist Attractions
There is a Tteokbokki restaurant called Barogujip in the underground shopping district in the basement of the old Chungnam Provincial Office building in Jungang-ro.
This is a Tteokbokki restaurant with memories that anyone who spent their school days in Daejeon would have visited at least once.
I'm grateful that they're still open.
These days, it's been nicknamed ice cream Tteokbokki.
Sungsimdang Main Branch, a famous specialty of Daejeon known to everyone in the country, is located in Eunhaengdong Street in Daeheung-dong.
The opening time is 8 AM, but people line up and wait before that.
Still, if you go early, the line is shorter, so you can buy bread quickly.
Near Sungsimdang, there is a cafe owned by Sanago, a 3D pen master.
If you go here, you can see Sanago's work that you saw on YouTube.
And the coffee was delicious too.
