A Bagel Lover's Paradise: Review of Onjisim Cafe in Ikseon-dong, Seoul

I recently visited Onjisim, a cafe in Ikseon-dong, Seoul, known for its amazing bagels, with a friend. Let me tell you about it!
This was my second time exploring Ikseon-dong, and I'm still captivated by its charming alleyways. There are so many restaurants and cafes worth visiting here.
My friend and I were trying to decide where to go when we realized we both wanted bagels. The beautiful interior of Onjisim also made us want to check it out.
Onjisim boasts a modern hanok (traditional Korean house) design, which I loved since I always want to visit Hanok cafes when I go to Seoul. It's pretty even from the entrance.
Once inside, I was impressed with the interior. The open ceiling in the center of the cafe, with a tree growing in the middle, was especially unique. The owner seems to be passionate about interior design!
It was my first time there, but my friend, who had been before, told me to choose my bagels and pay first.
Onjisim truly lives up to its reputation as a bagel 맛집 (delicious restaurant). They have over 10 different kinds of bagels, including gluten-free options made with Korean wheat and potatoes.
They even have a guide to their best bagel combinations, which is helpful for first-timers like me.
There were so many bagels to choose from, it was hard to decide! I wanted to try them all but couldn't.
After choosing our bagels, we picked out our cream cheese from the refrigerated section. My friend recommended the lemon dill cream cheese, which she said was delicious.
Onjisim also offers a variety of coffee beans, as well as non-coffee options like lattes, ades, juices, and teas. There's definitely something for everyone!
You can also get bagel sandwiches, bagel brunch sets, and even soup! I definitely want to try the bagel sandwich next time!
The cafe's interior, with its blend of hanok architecture and natural elements, was stunning. The quiet and comfortable atmosphere was also a plus. The space is large, with plenty of seating options, making it a great place to visit with friends or alone.
The self-service bar even had phone chargers and blankets, which was a nice touch.
We found a spot by the window, which had a great view. The weather was still humid and hot outside, but the cafe was nice and cool, which made me so happy.
And then, my very first bagel arrived!
My friend got coffee and said it was delicious. I had the lemon ginger ade, which had a very strong ginger flavor. But it paired well with the bagel.
We tried the salt butter bagel and the blueberry bagel. Both were delicious, but I preferred the blueberry bagel because it was chewier and slightly sweeter.
And the lemon dill cream cheese was amazing! Cream cheese is definitely a must-have when eating bagels.
Having my first bagel at a bagel 맛집 (delicious restaurant) has definitely raised my standards!
The bagels at Onjisim are a bit pricey, but they're made fresh daily with organic ingredients, so I think it's worth it.
It's rare to find a cafe that satisfies you with its drinks, desserts, and interior, but Onjisim in Ikseon-dong ticks all the boxes for me!
