Yongin Halmi Mountain Fortress: A Glimpse into Silla's History

Yongin Halmi Mountain Fortress is an important fortress showcasing the standard style of Silla's stone-built fortress construction.
Halmi Mountain Fortress is located in an area ruled by General Kim Mu-ryeok, the grandfather of General Kim Yu-sin, the hero of the unification of the Three Kingdoms, who was appointed as the first lord.
General Kim Mu-ryeok, recognizing the strategic importance of Yongin, built Halmi Mountain Fortress and laid the foundation for Silla's northward advance during the Three Kingdoms period.

Fortress Wall Circumference
The circumference of the fortress wall is about 661m, making it one of the smaller fortresses from the Three Kingdoms period in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area.
Halmi Mountain Fortress has two water collection facilities at the top and around the perimeter, designed to collect and use water flowing from the drainage channels.

Summit Stone
Upon reaching the 349m high Seonjangsan Mountain, you will find the Halmi Mountain Fortress summit stone, and traces of the fortress remain around the summit stone.
Traces of the fortress also remain around the summit stone. Seeing the remaining parts of the stone-built fortress, you can tell that it was elaborately constructed.
Halmi Mountain Fortress was built by General Kim Mu-ryeok, who laid the foundation for Silla's unification of the Three Kingdoms.
Yongin Halmi Mountain Fortress is a place where you can encounter the stories of fierce battles fought by our ancestors amidst the traces of time conveyed by the old fortress.
