The Enchanting Nightscape of Witgok Park
542-50 Maehak-ri, Jeonggwan-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan

As night falls, Jeonggwan Witgok Park transforms into a vibrant healing space filled with light sculptures and landscape lighting, thanks to the expanded light street project by Gijang-gun.
What was once a quiet daytime neighborhood park now offers residents a magical nighttime atmosphere, blending relaxation, art, and everyday walks.
This post takes a closer look at how Witgok Park has evolved into a year-round night attraction for the local community.
A Living Park by Day, a Healing Space by Night
During the day, Witgok Park functions as a familiar living park where residents enjoy casual strolls and moments of rest.
At night, the scenery changes dramatically. Soft lighting, illuminated sculptures, and carefully arranged installations draw steady foot traffic from the neighborhood.

Light Installations Around Jwagwangcheon Garden Visitor Center
In front of the Jwagwangcheon Garden Visitor Center, formerly known as Jeonggwan Children’s Library, a large tree wrapped in lights and heart-shaped decorations immediately catches the eye.
This year, windmill-shaped light installations were newly added to the building, expanding the visual variety beyond the existing moon and heart sculptures.

Rose Park and Playful Light Sculptures
The Rose Park, once known for its blooming roses, now welcomes visitors with color-changing rabbit sculptures glowing under the night sky.
Alongside the moon installation, these playful figures add a whimsical charm that appeals to both children and adults.

Seasonal Spaces and Expanding Night Views
In summer, Witgok Park becomes a popular resting spot for children enjoying water play. At night, a large full moon installation and string lights sparkle overhead like stars.
Enhanced LED lighting around the pine trees creates a layered, three-dimensional night view, while newly added lights in the hydrangea garden further enrich the overall atmosphere.

Photo Zones Along the Main Pathways
The expanded lighting naturally follows the park’s main walking paths, allowing visitors to encounter various photo zones and sculptures without straying far.
Heart-shaped photo spots decorated with flowers invite passersby to stop, take pictures, and enjoy the moment.

Extending the Light Street Beyond the Park
The light installations continue toward the dolphin fountain square near Jeonggwan Homeplus, creating a seamless nighttime route.
Glittering jewel-like lights on the ground and glowing moons and stars overhead create a magical atmosphere that feels almost otherworldly.

A Year-Round Night Attraction for the Community
The scenic installations at Witgok Park are planned to operate throughout the year, regardless of season.
Future plans include linking new displays with the Jwagwangcheon Local Garden, offering residents and visitors fresh attractions all year long.
As the year comes to a close, the light street of Witgok Park offers a beautiful place to create sparkling memories and welcome the new year with a warm heart.
