The 13th Uljoo Welfare Expo: Connecting Hearts and Enhancing Welfare

On November 29th, Uljoo County's Beomseo Sports Park was filled with energetic footsteps from early morning.
This was the day of the 13th Uljoo Welfare Expo, held under the slogan 'Connecting Hearts, Enhancing Welfare.'
This year's expo showcased various welfare resources from Uljoo County, allowing residents to see, hear, and experience welfare services directly.
As a blogger for Ulsan City, I not only covered the event but also assisted at the Yangyang Community Service Council booth with a 'handkerchief-making experience.'
Let me share the vibrant atmosphere I experienced on-site!
Exciting Opening Ceremony with Performances and Paper Airplanes
The expo opened with engaging performances by the Yeonmu Dance Company and the Saewool Orchestra.
As the orchestra's powerful music resonated, visitors gathered throughout the park, their faces filled with anticipation.
During the awards ceremony for social welfare contributors, the dedication of those who have long served Uljoo's welfare was acknowledged, and everyone expressed their gratitude with applause.
Finally, a performance of flying hope paper airplanes marked the official start of the expo with a warm and bright atmosphere.
38 Promotional and Experience Booths: Residents 'Experiencing' Welfare
This year's expo featured an impressive 38 booths, offering welfare services for various demographics including the elderly, disabled, women, children, and youth through actual programs and activities.
Activities such as keychain making, bag crafting, and mushroom growing attracted many families, who appeared to be enjoying themselves immensely.
Yangyang Community Service Council Booth – 'Handkerchief Making' a Huge Hit!
At the booth I participated in, we offered a handkerchief-making experience where participants could personalize their own designs.
Children joyfully selected their patterns and colors, while adults smiled, saying, 'It's fun to do this after such a long time!'
It was heartwarming to see families creating memories together by decorating a single handkerchief.
From my experience assisting at the booth, I realized that this welfare expo is not just about 'promotion' but a place where the community communicates and connects.
One visitor expressed gratitude, saying, 'I appreciate being able to easily understand what welfare institutions do through these experiences.'
Plentiful Activities for Families
In addition to the experience booths, there were various attractions and activities throughout the expo, keeping it bustling all day long.
Stamp Tour (Photo booth + Souvenirs)
Eco-friendly playground
Mini drone experience zone
Flea market & food trucks
Especially, the flea market and food trucks drew many visitors, with long lines forming in the afternoon due to their popularity.
A Day for Residents to Experience and Understand Welfare
The Uljoo Welfare Expo was an event where residents could easily understand welfare by seeing and experiencing it firsthand.
This year's expo was not just about 'information delivery' but was a space for residents to actively participate and feel the essence of welfare.
A Word from the Observing Reporter
The Uljoo Welfare Expo was not just a simple festival; it was a place where the community connected, shared hearts, and grew together.
Watching families and children making handkerchiefs at the Yangyang booth made me realize that even a small experience can bring welfare closer to the community.
I hope more citizens will participate next year, allowing Ulsan's welfare to expand even further.
