Today, I would like to introduce the winter scenery of Neungjeon Arboretum located in Chilwon-eup, Hamann-gun.
In spring, it is a cozy space accompanied by gentle breezes, while in winter, it transforms into a warm space where even the chill feels sentimental.
The parking lot at Neungjeon Arboretum is located next to the entrance, and visitors must walk up to the arboretum after parking.
It would be good to check the visiting rules of Neungjeon Arboretum before your visit.
The arboretum operates a self-service café called 'Pedfore.' Upon entry, if you order one drink per person, you can enjoy the gardens.
There is an entrance to the café and a path leading to the gardens.
First, let’s explore the warm and inviting self-service café, 'Pedfore.'
As it operates without staff, you will need to select your menu and make payment yourself. If it's your first time, detailed instructions on how to use the beverage machine are available.
There is also a guide for café usage, and items like straws, lids, and napkins are provided.
The café features large glass windows, making it a perfect spot to enjoy coffee while taking in the outdoor scenery. Especially in the cold winter, warm sunlight streams through the glass, creating a cozy indoor atmosphere.
This is a great place to relax with a warm drink while basking in the sunlight. There are also books available on the tables, allowing you to enjoy a drink while reading.
There are group seating areas available, making it convenient for gatherings or visits with friends.
Next to the café, there is an outdoor garden with a pavilion, creating a serene atmosphere. The grassy area is perfect for children to play.
The pavilion in the outdoor garden is equipped with a board and stones for playing Go. How about playing Go or Omok when you're bored? It could be fun!
Now, I’ve entered the walking trail of Neungjeon Arboretum. In winter, it may seem like an ordinary path, but in May, it becomes a famous spot adorned with blooming peonies.
I recommend visiting on a day when the peonies bloom in May.
In winter, the air is quiet and crisp, but as you walk up slowly, you will find two observation decks.
The first observation deck is not far from the café. If you take a leisurely stroll, you will reach it.
The observation deck has seating, offering a different view from what you saw at the café.
In front, there is a mountain, and you can see the open scenery on both sides. Doesn’t it feel liberating?
Next, here is the second observation deck. Like the first, it provides a view of the natural scenery.
Here, you can purchase a sotdae (a traditional Korean pole). Write your wishes on the sotdae and place it in the wish box, and it will be planted nearby.
I hope all your wishes come true this year.
How about visiting Neungjeon Arboretum in Hamann during winter? While staying indoors in the cold is nice, enjoying a light walk and sipping coffee under the warm sunlight while reading is also delightful.
