Mungyeong Omija Theme Tunnel, located near Jinnamgyoban,

is a transformed space from the old Mungyeong Line's 540-meter-long tunnel,

which once transported coal and passengers.

Here, you can also enjoy picturesque railway views.

The old railway leading to the tunnel entrance,

surrounded by lush green forests,

brings a sense of tranquility.

At the end of the railway, beyond the hill enveloped in greenery,

the entrance to the Mungyeong Omija Theme Tunnel glimmers faintly.

It feels like a path into a fairytale world,

making you want to stop and take photos.

The tunnel, remodeled from the Seokhyeon Tunnel of the Mungyeong Line,

maintains a cool temperature of 15-18℃, providing a refreshing escape!

Inside the tunnel, a dazzling display of lights creates a beautiful path.

Colorful sculptures inspired by the region's specialty,

the red omija, are showcased throughout.

Walking through the tunnel, you'll encounter families enjoying their refreshing outing,

with children posing for photos in front of sparkling tree sculptures.

As you continue, you will find 'Gallery Gusan',

a cultural space filled with artistic vibes.

This underground art gallery preserves the walls and arches of the old Seokhyeon Tunnel.

Artworks reflecting Mungyeong's traditions and modern paintings adorn the walls.

As you walk deeper into the tunnel,

you'll find a 'Wishing Tree' filled with heartfelt wishes from visitors.

Above, colorful umbrella sculptures and vibrant murals on the walls

create natural photo spots!

Looking up at the tunnel ceiling,

you'll be captivated by a giant dinosaur trick art mural.

The thrilling image of a T-Rex peeking through the ceiling

is especially popular among curious children!

At the innermost part of the tunnel,

there's a media screening room equipped with audio-visual facilities.

It's like a cinema inside the tunnel!

Relax in the cool cave while enjoying media art.

If you want to escape the heat of daily life,

consider a trip to Mungyeong, where clear nature and cool cultural spaces coexist!

May you create special and happy memories in Mungyeong!
