3rd Jangsaengpo Animation Film Festival Recap
The 3rd Jangsaengpo Animation Film Festival took place from July 30 to August 2, 2026, concluding a four-day event.
This free animation screening event, held at the Jangsaengpo Cultural Warehouse, has been a yearly tradition for visitors.
This year's festival, now in its third edition, featured an expanded lineup of films and a variety of engaging programs, providing entertainment for all attendees.
At the entrance, food trucks offered not just visual delights but also tasty treats.
The balloon show, which ran for just two days over the weekend, was a hit among children and adults alike, evoking a sense of nostalgia.
Many children received gifts, as the organizers ensured there were enough for everyone.
The highly sought-after large character balloon was awarded to the family that showed the most enthusiasm.
Various hands-on programs were available, including a voice dubbing experience that brought animation to life. Participants practiced multiple times in the lobby before entering the recording bus.
Since there were four fish characters, I was assigned two to help my child with the dubbing practice.
After rehearsing, we had a great time recording in the media bus, and my child thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We captured memories with cosplayers on the first and second floors, as well as on the sixth floor where films were screened.
The photo event was ongoing, allowing us to take special life pictures using various props, reminiscent of the festival's characters.
By sharing banners or photos from the festival on social media, attendees could receive special merchandise.
The ticket price for the 3rd Jangsaengpo Animation Film Festival was free for all sessions, with entry on a first-come, first-served basis after online reservations. Even though I visited in hopes of finding cancellations, there were none available.
This year's festival was particularly meaningful, celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Jangsaengpo Cultural Warehouse.
With diverse programs suitable for all ages, the festival attracted a larger audience than ever.
The second-floor experience zone offered visitors a chance to create memories associated with the festival. Various engaging programs were available for attendees to participate in.
By presenting a movie ticket and following the festival's Instagram, visitors could choose one of two experience zones to enjoy.
Even though my child didn't have a ticket, they were allowed to participate in the activities.
Alongside the festival, the Jangsaengpo Cultural Warehouse hosted a 'Jangsaeng Village Staycation & Paper Playground' event, running until September 27.
Unfortunately, I couldn't watch the films due to sold-out tickets, but the various activities provided plenty of fun. Next year, I will ensure to secure tickets for a complete experience.
