During the hot summer break, I visited the Hamann Complex Literature Museum, a great place to spend quality time with kids in a cool indoor environment.
Throughout August, the museum is hosting a special event called "Summer Break Taste ZIP," where children can participate in various activities, create memories, and receive gifts.
Let me introduce you to the schedule and how to participate.

The Hamann Complex Literature Museum is the only cultural space in the country that combines literature and Hanja (Chinese characters).
Visitors can experience the literary works and Hanja culture of writers from Hamann through various content and exhibitions.
There is also a resting area available for everyone!
Upon entering the museum's courtyard, you'll find beautifully landscaped gardens nestled between modern buildings.
An outdoor terrace is also available for everyone to relax, showcasing stunning architecture.
To the right of the building entrance, there is a shared café where visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee, even if they are not using the museum.
The coffee prices are very affordable, and there is a wide variety of beverages, making it a great spot to meet friends or hold brief meetings.
In the lobby, a special exhibition on anti-Japanese patriotic poets is ongoing until August 30.
This exhibition allows visitors to encounter the noble spirits of patriotic figures through literary works, making it a meaningful experience for children during the Liberation Day.
Summer Break Taste ZIP
???? Event Period: July 26 (Fri) - August 30 (Sun)
✅ Target Audience: Elementary to high school students (Limited to the first 100 participants)
???? Special Gift for Mission Completion: Official museum goods
???? Participation Fee: Free
The Summer Break Taste ZIP event allows participants to complete four missions throughout the museum and receive limited edition goods.
If you complete all four missions, you can receive a special limited edition item. Even if you only participate in the poetry contest and transcription challenges, you can still receive a lucky lottery ticket.
The first mission, the 'Cock-a-doodle-doo Poetry Contest,' requires participants to complete a poem using the keyword related to the hottest days of summer.
Participants can receive a lottery ticket and enjoy delicious snacks. Since there is no right answer, children can easily and enjoyably participate.
The second mission is the 'Transcription Challenge,' where participants copy an inspirational sentence.
The poem by Lee Yuk-sa is a great read for the upcoming Liberation Day.
As they read the poem, recalling the difficult times of our nation evokes strong emotions and stimulates literary sensitivity.
The third mission involves making bookmarks in a designated area in front of the Hongmun Room on the second floor, where participants can write their names in Hanja.
Friends with purely Korean names can also participate in Hangul, and they can decorate their bookmarks as they wish, making it a fun experience.
Bookmarks can be taken home as precious souvenirs.
The final mission is to take a photo at the 'Ten Longevities' photo zone on the third floor, creating lasting memories.
The Ten Longevities symbolize longevity and are represented by ten images, making this an especially meaningful photo spot.
Right next to the photo zone, participants can create their own Ten Longevities art postcards using stamps.
The beautiful postcards that replicate the illustrations from the photo zone turned out even better than expected, providing a delightful experience.
Upon completing all four missions, participants can receive a set of museum goods, including a memo pad, masking tape, paper bookmarks, and a premium pen.
The missions are not difficult, so even young children can participate without any issues. Anyone can receive the goods by participating on a first-come, first-served basis.
After participating in the poetry contest, I also received a simple snack through a lucky draw. Scratching the lottery with a coin looked quite fun!
On the upcoming Monday, August 17, a fun stamp tour experience as a scholar is also planned.
Visitors can enjoy a refreshing drink and snacks while spending quality time with family and friends.
There will be two sessions daily at 11 AM and 3 PM, featuring various prizes, so make sure to join!
Various exhibition halls and resting spaces
In addition to the planned events, visitors can explore the history of Hamann literature at any time, making it a great place for a quick visit.
Especially, the media art zone inside the exhibition hall allows visitors to experience Hamann's culture and landmarks through media art.
This space is particularly appealing to children, who enjoy interacting with the sparkling visuals.
In the modern literature library, visitors can comfortably read works by Hamann writers and even practice transcribing various pieces.
This allows children to engage with literature in a fun and accessible way.
On the third floor, visitors can experience traditional clothing and games, creating unique memories.
The Hamann Complex Literature Museum offers a cool escape in summer and a warm refuge in winter, providing a dual benefit of learning about literature through various free experiences.
With numerous events and experiences available for visitors year-round, I highly recommend checking it out.
The museum is a place where visitors can create lasting memories, making it a great spot to visit with kids in Hamann.
With exciting events happening throughout August, if you’re looking for indoor activities with family or loved ones, be sure to stop by!
