Enjoying a Free Picnic at Jujeon Bomit Port in Ulsan

I recently visited a wonderful place in Ulsan's Dong-gu where you can enjoy a free picnic.
It's called the Jujeon Bomit Port Picnic Area.
With an ocean view, you can savor delicious food and even go sea foraging in the water, making it a popular spot!
You can use the area for up to 5 hours, which is perfect for enjoying the summer without any stress.
Let me share my experience at the Jujeon Bomit Port Picnic Area.
You can make a reservation through the Ulsan Dong-gu Public Facility Reservation Service. Reservations open at midnight, 7 days before your desired date.
I checked just now, and it was already fully booked for a week ahead. If you’ve already used the picnic area, you can make another reservation 14 days after your initial reservation date.
The picnic area is available from 10 AM to 3 PM during the day and from 4 PM to 9 PM at night.
There are 20 table spots and 5 mat spots, and each table can accommodate up to 6 people, including infants.
While reservations are non-transferable, direct family members can use the area upon verification of documentation.
One of the best features of the Jujeon Bomit Port Picnic Area is that you can cook your own food, grilling meat and cooking ramen!
However, only portable gas burners are allowed for cooking.
Parking is available on the road in front of the picnic area, but it fills up quickly, even in the morning. You can find a public parking lot along the road if needed.
When you arrive at the Jujeon Bomit Port Picnic Area, you must first visit the management office to confirm your reservation. Remember to bring an ID!
After showing your ID and writing your name and number of guests on the list, you can head down to your designated table. I visited on a weekday, and there were already many people there.
The tables are numbered from 1 to 20. Tables 7 to 20 are shaded by trees, so you can enjoy some relief from the sun. If you’re in a sunny spot, don’t worry; parasols are set up for shade.
The view of the sea and the blue parasols is refreshing just to look at!
There are also electrical outlets available, but high-power appliances (like heaters, rice cookers, etc.) are not permitted.
The tables are spacious enough for many people to grill meat while enjoying the sea view.
The shaded areas created by the tall pine trees are excellent spots to relax.
Especially table number 15 feels like a private camping spot, offering a beautiful view of the Jujeon sea and a gentle sea breeze.
Some tables are slightly elevated, providing a nice vantage point with fewer neighboring tables, making the area feel more spacious.
You can set up small canopies or mats near your table within the designated time.
The picnic area also has a wash station for rinsing ingredients, but washing dishes or feet is prohibited.
Since cooking is allowed, be cautious of grease that may clog the drainage.
Trash and food waste must be taken home with you.
One of the reasons the Jujeon Bomit Port Picnic Area is popular is that you can go sea foraging!
There are stairs leading down to the sea, making it easy to access. Kids love it, and you can see them carrying their gear down.
The area is shallow at the front, but deeper and with strong waves further in, so swimming is not allowed.
Even though it's hot outside, the sea is refreshingly cool, making you forget the summer heat.
Kids enjoy catching shellfish and small fish among the rocks. After foraging, you can return to the picnic area to enjoy delicious food and relax in the shade, and before you know it, 5 hours have passed.
The Jujeon Bomit Port Picnic Area is a fantastic summer spot in Ulsan Dong-gu!
You can sit at picnic tables or on mats with a view of the sea, enjoying the free experience without any worries. I plan to make another reservation in 14 days!
How about enjoying the remaining heat of August at the cool Jujeon Bomit Port Picnic Area?
