Discovering Ulsan's Hidden Gem: Yeonam Garden

I recently visited Yeonam Garden, located in Yeonam-dong, Buk-gu, Ulsan.
This is a place I visit once a year, a hidden healing spot in the city.
Once a neglected wetland, it has been transformed into a beautiful ecological space through restoration efforts, showcasing the seasonal charms of Ulsan.
The entrance is conveniently located across from the Buk-gu Economic Promotion Agency.
If you're not paying attention, you might easily miss it.
Surprisingly, the garden is quite spacious.
Developed between 2019 and 2022, it features ecological restoration that respects the local history and culture.
Right in front of the garden is Yeonam Village.
Yeonam Garden boasts a wide lotus wetland and various themed walking paths, making it perfect for family outings, romantic dates, or walks with pets.
Despite being near an industrial area, stepping into the garden feels like entering a tranquil forest.
More than just a city garden, Yeonam Garden serves as an ecological experience space.
It includes an ecological playground, bird-watching posts, a wetland area, and a grassy plaza, making it especially great for visits with children.
The wetland area is quite expansive, and the lotus flowers bloom fully in July and August.
I visited last year when the lotus flowers were in full bloom, and they were stunning.
Currently, only the lotus leaves are visible.
The paths are mostly flat, with dirt trails and wooden walkways, making it great for walking.
The clay paths are suitable for barefoot walking, providing a safe and enjoyable experience.
Every year, Yeonam Garden changes, introducing new paths and attractions.
Even now, it's well-maintained, but each visit reveals fresh concepts and sights.
As summer progresses, you can already see hydrangeas, and the garden showcases seasonal flowers, each season offering its unique charm.
The grass garden and nature garden bloom with various flowers, creating a different atmosphere within the same garden.
In early June, the refreshing greenery and blossoms fill the garden.
A standout feature of Yeonam Garden is the log bridge photo zone.
This spot has gained popularity on social media for its picturesque setting, perfect for capturing memorable moments.
Visiting in the morning when the sunlight is soft enhances the beauty of the willow trees and calm waters.
Exploring the nearby Yeonam Village is also a delightful experience.
It features hidden alleyway eateries and vibrant murals.
While Yeonam Garden may not be a flashy tourist destination, I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in nature.
If you're looking for a healing spot in the city, Yeonam Garden is a must-visit.
