Discovering Culture at Gyeonggi Culture Lounge

Gyeonggi Provincial Government is always a place filled with excitement.
Various programs and events held in the spacious plaza enrich the cultural life of residents.
On April 18, a new cultural space, 'Culture Lounge Gyeonggi, Jang', opened at the Gyeonggi Fusion Town pedestrian mall.
Upon hearing the news of the Culture Lounge's opening, I visited the Gyeonggi Provincial Government.
It is conveniently connected to the Gwanggyo Central Station on the Shinbundang Line, making it easily accessible by public transport.
The Culture Lounge is located next to the exit of the Gyeonggi Provincial Library, making it easy to find for first-time visitors.
The Culture Lounge Gyeonggi, Jang, is designed as a multifaceted cultural space to reduce the hassle of seeking out different cultural experiences like travel, exhibitions, performances, and ceramics.
Six public institutions under Gyeonggi Province, including the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, have collaborated to create this pop-up cultural platform, which spans approximately 400 square meters within the Gyeonggi Fusion Town.
Here, programs are organized around four themes. While some require advance reservations through Naver, there are also programs available for on-site participation without prior booking.
As you enter the lounge, beautiful ceramic artworks immediately catch your eye. At the 'Gyeonggi Ceramic Shop', visitors can admire and purchase high-quality ceramic works, as well as enjoy tea tastings and craft experiences using traditional tea sets.
The tea tasting program is conducted via Naver reservations, allowing participants to savor the delicate aroma of tea and the beauty of the teacups, providing a moment of respite from the busy daily life.
The 'Art & Goods' section resembles a charming boutique filled with a variety of cultural products, from stylish eco-bags to unique short-sleeve t-shirts created by local artists, offering a rich visual experience.
In the 'Play: Gyeonggi' area, small live performances by Gyeonggi artists and screenings of AI-based films and documentaries take place sequentially, allowing visitors to enjoy the romance of Gyeonggi through both sight and sound.
Lastly, the 'Local Radar' theme offers a personalized Gyeonggi travel guide based on individual preferences. Visitors receive a mini travel kit and can complete missions to discover their travel style.
The Culture Lounge Gyeonggi, Jang is a space where the unique colors of six institutions blend harmoniously, creating a new cultural map of Gyeonggi Province. This innovative collaboration serves as a great example of administrative innovation.
This vibrant space, alive with the charm of Gyeonggi, will be open until December 15. Why not take a moment to set aside your busy thoughts and plan your own emotional journey here?
