Changnyeong-gun's Excellent Local Products Shine at the Gyeongnam Special Products Fair
As the crisp sound of fallen leaves accompanies walks under the blue sky, deepening the contemplation of autumn, I visited the Gyeongnam Special Products Fair, where Changnyeong-gun's excellent local products were being promoted.
The '2025 Gyeongnam Special Products Fair,' held at the Changwon Convention Center (CECO) from November 20th to 23rd, was co-hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do and Changwon City. It is a large-scale event where you can find excellent agricultural, fishery, livestock, and processed food products from all over Gyeongnam in one place, and it is one of the representative regional fairs that receives high attention every year.
This year, about 200 companies from 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam participated, introducing a wide range of special products containing the identity of the region, such as agricultural products, seafood, livestock products, crafts, convenience foods, health foods, and traditional liquors. Several excellent local product companies from Changnyeong-gun also participated in this event, promoting 'Changnyeong, a region of clean agricultural products,' and received high attention from visitors.
At the fair, which offered various experiences and information to visitors with regional product recommendation halls and special promotion halls, 'Changnyeong Food,' an agricultural association corporation, captivated the attention of many visitors with its fermented soybean products such as soybean paste, red pepper paste, black bean cheonggukjang powder, and soy sauce, all made in the traditional way to preserve the deep flavor. The tasting corner was a great hit.
Gamjoeun Village featured food products such as persimmon vinegar, plum extract, persimmon leaf tea, and mulberry extract, while Golden Farm showcased dried sweet persimmons and semi-dried sweet persimmons. The sweet and crunchy flavor of Changnyeong sweet persimmons, which received plenty of autumn sunlight, was enough to whet the appetites of visitors.
Cheonok Korea, a health food company specializing in balloon flower rice syrup, onion rice syrup, wild ginseng, and Gyeongokgo, received great responses by introducing products that preserved the aroma and efficacy of natural ingredients. Changnyeong Honeybee Farm, which showcased domestic honey, bee pollen, propolis, and royal jelly products, attracted visitors' attention by emphasizing the quality and reliability of honey collected from Changnyeong's pristine nature.
Body Saengsaeng, famous for its fragrant and rich ginger syrup, was popular with female visitors who like to enjoy it warm in winter, and Sogeumseong displayed a variety of products from unrefined natural salt to premium salt.
Upo Nuri Farm, which has gained fame for its nutritious superfood sprout peanuts, attracted the attention of visitors by offering roasted peanuts and a new King Kong peanut butter product for direct tasting experiences.
The Changnyeong specialty products I saw and felt directly at the site were not just 'products' but 'reliable food' created by combining clean nature, producers' sincerity, and thorough quality control.
