After visiting this summer with my child, I found it well-equipped with a water playground, water slides, an adult swimming pool, and relaxation areas. It's not only accessible to Gunsan citizens but also to visitors from other regions, making it a recommended family outing spot in Jeonbuk.

Located at 546-10 Haemang-ro, Gunsan, the pool will operate from July 3 to August 23, 2026, with hours from 10 AM to 6 PM (closed on Mondays).
Once you enter, you can enjoy the facilities throughout the operating hours, but please note that swimming is not allowed during the break time from 1 PM to 2 PM. It's advisable to check the operational status before your visit, as it may change due to weather or facility conditions.
The admission fee for Gunsan residents is 3,000 KRW for children, 4,000 KRW for youth, and 5,000 KRW for adults. For visitors from other regions, the fees are 4,000 KRW for children, 5,000 KRW for youth, and 6,000 KRW for adults, while infants under 24 months can enter for free.
To qualify for the resident rate, you need to present an ID that verifies your address. Seniors, recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, people with disabilities (and one guardian), veterans, and families with multiple children can receive a 50% discount upon presenting relevant documents. Please check with the management office or ticket booth for specific eligibility and required documents before your visit.

Children enjoyed climbing the tunnel slides and running through the refreshing water streams. The inflatable slide designed for kids was also a big hit. The large water slide, which descends rapidly, is ideal for active children and teenagers.
The pool's depth is varied to accommodate different ages and swimming abilities, from shallow play areas for toddlers to a pool with a depth of 1.2 meters, allowing family members to choose the space that suits them best.
However, children must be supervised by an adult, and those under six years old must be accompanied by a guardian. One of the highlights was the water temperature; it was refreshing yet comfortable enough for extended play without being too cold.
Equally appreciated were the relaxation areas scattered throughout the pool. Families could rest under shade structures and umbrellas, and there was a designated area for laying out mats. This feature proved especially useful for families visiting with young children, allowing them to take breaks between swimming.
Inside the pool area, a snack bar offers simple food options, including tteokbokki, fish cakes, chicken skewers, popcorn chicken, hot dogs, and churros, making it easy to grab a snack or a light meal.
Outside food and delivery services are not allowed, and alcohol, smoking, and pets are also prohibited, so it's good to keep this in mind before your visit.
For a convenient experience, remember to bring swimwear, swim caps, towels, and life jackets. There are facilities for showering and inflating tubes, making it easier if you bring your own tube, as you can inflate it on-site instead of transporting a large item from home.
Gunsan Outdoor Swimming Pool offers a variety of water play facilities that can compete with expensive water parks, all while being well-maintained and providing a comfortable environment. The greatest advantage is the ability for the whole family to enjoy a refreshing summer without traveling far.
Children can play joyfully in the water playground, while teens and adults can relax in the deeper pool. It's truly a family-friendly outdoor swimming pool suitable for all ages.
There is also ample parking available, making it relatively easy to visit by car. However, it is advisable to arrive a bit early, especially on weekends and during summer vacation, as it can get crowded.
