2026 Gyeonggi Province Opportunity Press Corps Inauguration Ceremony

On February 25, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office hosted the '2026 Opportunity Press Corps Inauguration Ceremony'.
I was selected as a general reporter and eagerly attended the event.
Let me share the exhilarating atmosphere of the event. ❤️
The performance by Ongals, the Gyeonggi Province ambassadors.
A diverse group of reporters gathered at Dasan Hall.
Many attendees, including the Opportunity Press Corps, arrived early.
The corps includes members from elementary school students to adults,
creating a festive atmosphere, especially with the families of the young reporters joining in.
✨
Before the ceremony began, Ongals' humorous performance added to the excitement.
A video reflecting on the 2025 activities of the Opportunity Press Corps was screened.
The video showcased various Gyeonggi Province policy events, educational programs, and fam tours.
Thanks to the corps's efforts, an impressive 1,652 articles were published!
Outstanding reporters from various fields were awarded for their active contributions.
During the formal inauguration, certificates were awarded to the 2026 reporters,
and representatives from each field took an oath.
In 2026, a total of 222 members from four categories, including young reporters, youth reporters, university students, and general reporters,
will be active under the slogan, 'Reporting on the lives of residents, recording the plus in our lives.'
Taking the oath as part of the Opportunity Press Corps filled me with pride and a sense of responsibility.
Gyeonggi Province's Deputy Governor Kim Seong-jung mentioned that this year, the corps had a competitive selection process with a ratio of about 5:1.
He urged the diverse group of reporters to lead the way in showcasing Gyeonggi Province.
In the second part, a quiz session was held based on this year's slogan,
which was filled with excitement as prizes were at stake.
The quiz helped attendees understand the corps's activities,
and the enthusiasm of the young reporters was heartwarming.
After the official event, capacity-building training was conducted.
University and general reporters attended a lecture titled 'What Should Reporters Write in the AI Era?' by Kim Kyung-dal.
The speaker emphasized the importance of capturing human stories deeply as technology advances.
Despite the busy schedule, the inauguration and training instilled a sense of pride and responsibility.
The journey of the 2026 Opportunity Press Corps has now begun.
We will strive to document the stories residents want to know and the policies they need to hear about.
Please keep an eye on the active endeavors of the Opportunity Press Corps! 😊
