아산 외암민속마을

Autumn has fully arrived, bringing with it the "prettiness" of cosmos season and the return of seasonal favorites like shrimp and gizzard shad. This week was a heartwarming blend of family outings, precious seasonal gifts, and quiet walks through the countryside. From exploring the historic Oeam Folk Village (외암민속마을) to savoring red kiwis and matcha walnut cookies, it was a week spent learning "how to eat well and live well."
Whether it was listening to Kim Yuna on a rainy day or watching my boyfriend sketch for me, the small moments held the most magic. I even managed an open run for those elusive matcha cookies! Join me as I look back at a week filled with flower dyes, country bananas, and the gentle beauty of Japanese Pagodatrees.
Oeam Folk Village: A Stroll Back in Time
It’s almost a crime to stay inside when the weather is this perfect. Our family gathered for a trip to Oeam Folk Village, where the traditional atmosphere felt more precious than ever. Walking through the village with Grandma and Jihu, I was struck by the simple beauty of the Buddleja plants and the vibrant cosmos flowers lining the paths. Grandma’s garden balsam dye—a nostalgic touch—reminded me of the "country" charms I love so much.
Seasonal Delights: Red Kiwis and Carrot Pickles
This week was also defined by delicious seasonal gifts. Youngsun sent over some red kiwis that were even sweeter than last year, and Princess gifted me a carrot pickle that made my late-night hunger feel like a gourmet experience. Despite the occasional stomach ache, the temptation of fresh shrimp and gizzard shad was too much to resist—I’ve been feasting on them all week long!
Rainy Days and Matcha Open Runs
Rainy days called for comfort food at Igojip Mandu and the smooth voice of Kim Yuna. I also managed a successful "open run" for matcha walnut cookies, securing two cups—one for immediate enjoyment and one for later. There’s something uniquely satisfying about finding your favorite treats after a long wait, especially when paired with Half Coffee's oat matcha milk.
Prettiness Encountered on the Path
Walking with Mom, I encountered "Mogamju" (Japanese Pagodatrees) and endless fields of cosmos. These walks are where I find the most peace. To wrap up the week, I visited Roose, my favorite flower shop, to pick up some small bouquets and bought some grapes for Mrs. Kim. It was a week that reminded me how important it is to appreciate the fleeting beauty of the seasons.
Would you like me to find the best local restaurants serving gizzard shad and seasonal shrimp in your area, or should I look up the current schedule for night openings at traditional folk villages?
