Looking for the perfect place to escape the heat or cold in Seoul? Yongsan I'Park Mall is a massive indoor playground that offers much more than just shopping. As a visitor from the big-size women's clothing world in Dongdaemun, I recently spent a full day exploring this "kidult" paradise, from the nostalgic clatter of capsule toys to the high-energy thrill of futuristic arcades. Whether you're a food lover, an anime fan, or a casual gamer, there's a corner of this mall designed to spike your dopamine levels.
My journey started with a hearty meal at Tim Ho Wan and continued through three must-visit zones: the massive Jjang Arcade, the trendy subculture hub Dopamine Station, and the largest capsule toy collection in Korea, Gacha Park. Join me as I share my favorite spots, budget tips (tighten those wallets!), and the small happiness found in a simple Spam keychain.
Jjang Arcade: A Mecca for Claw Machines and Simulators
Located on the 7th floor of Living Park, Jjang Arcade is the ultimate destination for those seeking high-energy fun. Since it’s a newer addition to the mall, the space is exceptionally clean and packed with the latest gaming machines. The basketball games feature bouncy new balls, and the motorcycle and car simulators—complete with moving seats—feel like mini-amusement park rides. It's the perfect place to "digest" your meal through some active play!
The Claw Machine Challenge
The arcade is legendary for its vast selection of claw machines, ranging from tiny plushies to giant character figures. While I personally left empty-handed (beware of the addictive nature of these machines!), watching others walk away with massive haul bags is part of the fun. It’s a bright, energetic space that’s hard not to get excited about, regardless of your gaming skill level.
Dopamine Station: The Subculture Holy Ground
On the 3rd floor of Living Park, you'll find the newly opened "Dopamine Station." This zone is a paradise for fans of "kidult" culture, featuring merchandise from global hits like *Demon Slayer*, *One Piece*, and *Slam Dunk*. Even if you aren't an anime enthusiast, the sheer cuteness of the displays—including the tempting Pikachu night lights—makes it a fun spot for window shopping and taking unique photos.
Sweet Palette Refreshments
When your energy starts to dip, stop by Sweet Palette within the Dopamine Station. I tried the Yuja (citron) black tea (₩6,000), which was incredibly refreshing. While the fruit parfait (₩9,000) was a bit underwhelming for the price, the fresh squeezed orange juices and salads are popular choices for a quick, healthy recharge before heading to the next zone.
Gacha Park: 150+ Machines of Pure Random Joy
The grand finale of our tour was Gacha Park, located in the event hall on the 3rd floor. As the largest gacha park in Korea, it houses over 150 machines filled with high-quality miniatures and character keychains. While prices aren't exactly "mini" (ranging from ₩4,000 to ₩8,000 per spin), the convenience of card payments makes it easy to enjoy. I managed to snag the "Original Spam" keychain I wanted on my first try—a moment of small but pure happiness!
Practical Visiting Tips
Yongsan I'Park Mall is directly connected to Yongsan Station (Line 1 and KTX), making it incredibly accessible. Most entertainment zones are located within the "Living Park" section. Note that Gacha Park and Dopamine Station are popular with crowds on weekends, so a weekday visit is recommended for a more relaxed experience. Bring a sturdy bag for your plushie wins and a disciplined budget for the capsule toys!
Would you like me to find the best-rated restaurants in Yongsan for a post-shopping dinner, or should I look up the current pop-up store schedule at I'Park Mall for this month?
