Hello, beauties~!

Not long ago, my Japanese friend (who I met while studying abroad in Japan) came to visit Korea!

Naturally, we went on a full-blown Seoul tour — from Seongsu to Hongdae to Mullae. And of course… no Korea trip is complete without some Olive Young shopping, right?

But get this — my friend insisted that we HAD to go to the Myeongdong Olive Young, not just any store.

The Olive Young Myeongdong Experience

To be honest, most locals don’t go to Myeongdong often unless they live nearby.
But wow… the number of foreign tourists there was insane! I was kind of overwhelmed ????

Interestingly, the bestsellers in Myeongdong’s Olive Young were different from those usually popular among locals.
My friend walked in and immediately asked a staff member,
“Where’s that one product?” — and then just started loading up the cart!
I didn’t even recognize half the items she picked up.

Apparently, these are super hyped in Japan right now.
Even other shoppers around us stopped to look, creating a crowd!

As a beauty blogger, my curiosity kicked in.
If so many foreign visitors are hoarding these K-beauty items, there’s gotta be a reason, right?

What’s in the Haul?

The star items?
???? Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen
???? The HARNAAI Cream Mist

My friend legit bought 10 of each — and that wasn’t even all of it.
She had so many that the staff set aside a separate pile for her by the display ????

I guess this is how Japanese people feel watching Koreans stock up at Don Quijote in Japan haha.

Still — it was kinda heartwarming to see K-beauty thriving like this globally!

The Viral Tinted Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen

I’d heard of the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun, but this new tinted sun serum version wasn’t something I’d tried before.
Turns out it’s hard to get in Japan, which is why people were buying it like crazy!

Apparently, this is also known as the “Jang Wonyoung sunscreen” — yep, from IVE.
No wonder it’s always sold out online and in the app.
My friend even tracked down the stock in Myeongdong specifically just to grab it!

Shade Range & My Pick

This version comes in several shades, which I love — super inclusive, especially for a sunscreen.
I chose LN110 (Neutral Light) — the brightest in the neutral range.
I also considered LP100 (Light Pink), but since I have slight redness, I felt LN110 would suit me better.

Texture & Finish

True to its name, this is a tinted sun serum, with a lightweight, hydrating texture that spreads easily.
It’s slightly runny (not watery), so you do need to blend it quickly before it drips.

✨ What I loved:

  • Smooth application

  • Hydrating but non-greasy

  • No stickiness or heavy feeling

  • No white cast (!!)

  • Soft tone-up effect with a radiant, healthy finish

Surprisingly, it’s a physical (mineral) sunscreen, but it doesn't have that usual thick, chalky feel at all.
And since it’s a serum, just apply it at the end of your skincare routine before makeup!

Pro Tips:

  • Shake well before use (since it’s a lightweight formula)

  • Apply quickly for even, sheer coverage

  • Can be layered with deeper shades for a soft contouring effect

Now, the Other Star: The HARNAAI Cream Mist

Also known as the “Glow Mist for Flawless Makeup”, this product became another fast fave.

???? Not only does it give that juicy, dewy glow before/after makeup,
but it also instantly soothes and calms sensitive skin.

My skin was red and irritated from the sun and fine dust after playing tour guide around Seoul —
but just a few spritzes of this, and my skin literally calmed down in minutes.
Total game-changer!

Key Soothing Ingredients:

  • Centella Asiatica (Cica)

  • Tea Tree

  • Madecassoside

  • Ceramides

These work together to calm irritation, strengthen the skin barrier, and deliver deep hydration —
so it’s amazing even for sensitive or reactive skin like mine.

And despite being a “cream mist,” it’s not heavy or oily at all.
I thought it would leave a sticky finish, but nope — just a fresh, dewy glow!

The Verdict ????

Whether you’re looking for a lightweight, daily sun care product or a hydrating mist to rescue stressed skin,
both of these products seriously live up to the hype.

Beauty of Joseon Tinted Sun Serum:

  • Lightweight, breathable SPF

  • Skin-enhancing tone-up

  • Suitable for sensitive skin

The HARNAAI Cream Mist:

  • Calms redness

  • Adds a radiant glow

  • Sets or refreshes makeup perfectly

If you’re traveling to Korea — especially for some Olive Young shopping —
make sure to check these out while you still can!
I totally get why tourists are filling up their carts with these ????
