Unlimited Refills of Jeju Beef at Uhwa: A Must-Try

During our family trip to Jeju, we initially considered indulging in the famous thick black pork. After all, being in Jeju, it seemed like a must-try. However, that day, I had an unexpected craving for beef, so we made a quick change of plans!
We rushed to Uhwa, a place recommended for its unlimited refills of Jeju beef. Among various options, Uhwa caught my eye. The phrase 'unlimited beef' was mentioned, but it didn't feel overly pushy; instead, it conveyed a sense of trust.
Upon arrival, the exterior was clean and inviting. As I stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and elegant interior.
They thoughtfully provided high chairs and children's utensils for guests with kids. This attention to detail reflects how much care goes into managing the establishment.
The ordering process is straightforward, allowing you to enjoy unlimited beef cuts without any confusion. Even first-time visitors can easily understand the system, making it a stress-free experience.
Before diving into the beef, I explored the salad bar. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for a salad bar at an unlimited meat restaurant. However, Uhwa offered a variety of fresh, vibrant vegetables, and each item was delicious and well-presented.
From snacks to Western dishes, and even an odeng bar, Uhwa is a value-packed restaurant that appeals to everyone, young and old alike.
The tempura and fried foods often found in unlimited refill places can be soggy, but here, the crispiness is well-maintained, making it hard not to go back for more.
With tteokbokki and pizza available, it's great for switching up flavors between meat courses.
The beverage corner was also satisfying. With carbonated drinks, coffee, and ice cream available for free, it's hard not to mention the value.
Don't assume that the limited selection of cuts is a downside just because it’s an unlimited refill place. Here, you can enjoy ribeye, sirloin, flap meat, and more, all well-prepared.
The meat looks impressive, with a nice sheen and well-defined grain. The ratio of fat to lean meat is just right, making it visually appealing.
Another highlight is the charcoal grill. The moment the meat hits the grill, the rich aroma of charcoal wafts through the air, enhancing the appetite!
The smoky flavor complements the natural taste of the beef without overpowering it. As soon as the meat touches the grill, juices start to bead on the surface, showcasing its quality.
I started with the sirloin. As it cooked on the grill, a subtle meat aroma filled the air, and I felt a sense of satisfaction building. Taking a bite, I found it tender and flavorful.
Flap meat has its own charm, with a pleasant chewiness that keeps you reaching for more, thanks to its rich flavor.
The ribeye is a juicy delight. When you take a bite, the juices burst in your mouth, offering a lovely balance of savory and sweetness.
Each cut has its unique texture, making it enjoyable to switch between them. The chuck flap is particularly tender, melting in your mouth.
As I alternated between cuts, I lost track of time. The bibim naengmyeon (cold mixed noodles) paired surprisingly well with the beef, thanks to its mild seasoning.
Don't miss the beef doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) at the end. It's packed with meat, delivering a rich broth perfect for mixing with rice and even great as a drinking accompaniment.
After finishing our meal at Uhwa, I found myself slightly forgetting about the thick black pork I had initially craved. It was definitely a day when choosing beef felt just right.
