Shinmi Chinese Restaurant in Sanbon Station: A Delicious Review

A visit to Shinmi Chinese Restaurant near Sanbon Station.
I had a craving for Chinese food on a weekday evening, so I visited Shinmi Chinese Restaurant near Sanbon Station after a long time. It's usually crowded, so I went with high expectations, and it was especially satisfying this time! I ordered more dishes than usual this time.
Location and Atmosphere of Shinmi Chinese Restaurant
Name: Shinmi Chinese Restaurant
Address: 2nd Floor, 206, 16-29 Sanbon-ro 323beon-gil, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do
Hours: Tuesday - Sunday 11:00 ~ 22:00 (Break time 15:00 ~ 16:30, Closed every Monday)
The location is in the central area of Sanbon, making it easy to access. It gets crowded quickly as dinner time approaches.
The interior has a neat Chinese restaurant feel, and the noise level is moderate, so there are many families and couples.
The restaurant atmosphere is very clean, and you can enjoy your meal while feeling the outside atmosphere through the large windows. I was able to enjoy a comfortable meal because it was early dinner time.
There's a Naver review event. It would be good to participate, right? We skipped it today because we had a lot of food.
There's a kiosk on the table, making ordering convenient.
Today's Menu
We ordered Stone Plate Jajangmyeon, Shinmi Sweet and Sour Pork, and Chadol Jjamppong.
When I go to a restaurant, I always order the signature menu items. I had high expectations today as well. Each menu had a distinct style, making it fun to choose!
While waiting for the food, I briefly looked around the restaurant.
Disposable aprons were neatly prepared. Baby chairs and a self-service corner were available.
As for basic side dishes, Jjajang, pickled radish, and green onion kimchi were served.
The food came out quickly.
Stone Plate Jajangmyeon - The Aroma from the Hot Stone Plate is Insane
Jajangmyeon is delicious, but Jajangmyeon served on a stone plate has a different presence. The stone plate is sizzling hot, so the aroma hits you when it first comes out. The biggest advantage is that the sauce soaks into the noodles and stays warm while you eat!
The sauce wasn't too sweet, and the ratio of meat to onions was good. The subtle smoky flavor gave it a deep taste, and the noodles were chewy and went well with the sauce.
Although it's said to be for two people, the portion was huge. The amount is generous, so it's enough for two people. Bean sprouts are placed on top of the Jajangmyeon. You can choose the amount of bean sprouts and the taste of the Jajangmyeon.
Highly recommend this menu for those who like Jajangmyeon!
The amount was enormous, the taste was full of smoky flavor, and the noodles seemed to be medium thickness. Because it was served on a stone plate, the food didn't get cold until the end, so I enjoyed it until the last bite.
Shinmi Sweet and Sour Pork - A Classic Taste with a Good Balance of Crispy and Moist
As the menu name 'Shinmi Sweet and Sour Pork' suggests, it has a signature feel. Sweet and sour pork is often referred to as either 'soaked' or 'dipped'. Shinmi Chinese Restaurant served it soaked.
The batter is thin and crispy, the meat inside is thick but not dry and moist, with almost no oily smell and a clean taste. Our youngest child kept saying 'delicious' and ate it until the end. The sauce had a stable balance of sour and sweet.
I briefly wondered if it would get soggy because it was soaked, but the crispiness lasted a long time, so it was delicious until the end.
Chadol Jjamppong - A Flavorful Broth with Smoky Aroma + the Richness of Chadol Oil
Today's highlight was the Chadol Jjamppong. Unlike ordinary Jjamppong, it contains Chadol (thinly sliced brisket), so the meat oil subtly lingers in the broth, which creates a really deep flavor.
The broth is refreshing and spicy, and the Chadol is generously added, giving it a good texture. Zero seafoody smell, and plenty of vegetables. The smoky flavor was very strong and addictive. I don't like thick noodles, but the thickness of the noodles was just right. One spoonful of the broth made me think, 'Ah, I'm having a proper meal today!' It's that rich!
You can enjoy it without being a spice enthusiast. It was nice that you could choose the level of spiciness. I ordered the basic mild flavor. Next time, I'll try ordering it a little spicier.
Overall Review
There are many choices when eating Chinese food in Sanbon, but today's combination of three menus was perfect.
✔ Stone Plate Jajangmyeon → Warm, Smoky, Generous
✔ Shinmi Sweet and Sour Pork → Crispy, Moist, Clean Fried Taste
✔ Chadol Jjamppong → Rich Broth and Full of Chadol Flavor
It's delicious to eat alone, and the combination is great when ordered together. Highly recommend when you want a hearty meal in Sanbon!
