While traveling in Jeju Island, I started looking for a black pork restaurant near the airport to satisfy my craving.

After reading a few reviews, one place kept popping up consistently: Dol Dam Black Pork Jeju Airport Branch, a well-regarded restaurant near Sirius Hotel.

The smell of grilling meat wafting from the entrance was irresistible. As soon as I opened the car door, I could smell the charcoal aroma in the breeze. It was clear that they knew how to grill meat properly.

As soon as I walked in, I noticed how fresh the air was. There was hardly any of the smoke or oily smell typical of black pork restaurants. Instead, it felt clean and well-ventilated.

The aging refrigerator was also impressive. Looking at the neatly arranged meat through the glass, I could see the vibrant color and distinct marbling. It was clear that the quality of the meat was top-notch.

I was curious about the pre-grilling zone, a unique feature of this restaurant. I saw that the staff were grilling the meat over charcoal and then bringing it to the tables.

The quality of the side dishes often gives you a sense of the restaurant's overall quality. Here, each side dish was fresh and flavorful, enhancing the taste of the meat. The white kimchi had a clean and refreshing tang. After a bite of meat, a spoonful of the kimchi broth cleansed the palate and made me crave the next bite. The green onion salad had the perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and sour, awakening my taste buds. It was a great way to reset the palate after the richness of the pork. The young radish kimchi was crisp and refreshing, pairing perfectly with the richness of the black pork. The fresh vegetables for wrapping the meat added a fragrant touch, followed by the savory flavor of the pork.

The self-service bar, where you can freely get more side dishes, was also very convenient. This is a significant advantage.

The main dish, black pork, was beautifully presented. The grilled pork belly and pork shoulder looked amazing. The fresh pork ribs had artistic marbling on the bone. The marbling slowly melting and glistening on the grill was a sign of success.

The savory smoke enveloped the table as the pre-grilled meat was placed on the grill. It wasn't just a 'meat smell,' but a combination of smoky and meaty aromas. Because the meat was pre-grilled, the cooking time was reduced, so I didn't have to wait long to eat. It was perfect for saving time on the last day of my trip.

The first bite of the black pork was amazing. The outside was thinly crispy, while the inside was moist and tender. The juices burst in my mouth, with the savory flavor of the fat and the subtle sweetness of the pork. It was a perfect combination. It wasn't too rich or greasy, but clean and flavorful.

Jeju black pork has a fine and firm texture, with a flavor that deepens as you chew. The savory notes came in layers, and the subtle sweetness was truly captivating.

It was fun to try different combinations, each offering a new flavor. When the meat is delicious, experimenting with combinations is essential. Here, each combination was perfect. I kept thinking, 'How about trying it this way?' That's why I enjoyed it so much from beginning to end.

After eating my fill of meat, I wanted something hot and soupy, so I ordered somaek (soju and beer), turban shell sea urchin bibimbap, and kimchi stew.

The turban shell sea urchin bibimbap combined the savory flavor of scorched rice with the richness of sea urchin, creating an addictive taste. It felt even more special because it was a dish unique to Jeju. The kimchi stew had a rich but clean broth, perfect for pouring over rice and enjoying a truly satisfying meal. It was the perfect ending after the meat.

I will definitely include Dol Dam Black Pork Jeju Airport Branch in my itinerary next time I visit Jeju.
