While maintaining its old-fashioned appearance, it serves delightful dishes that warm the heart during your visit. It's a place I highly recommend for those wanting to experience the warmth and depth of flavor reminiscent of a grandmother's home.
The moment you receive the simple yet lovingly prepared dishes, you feel your heart warm up. This hidden gem is beloved by locals, offering a dining experience filled with the generosity of rural hospitality.

Byeongyeong Super is located in Hwaam-myeon, Jeongseon-gun. As you enter the tranquil village roads, you can easily spot it amidst the charming rural scenery.
???? Parking Information
Although there isn't a large dedicated parking lot, you can comfortably park in front of the store or in nearby alleyways. Being in a rural area, parking is hassle-free, but do note that the entrance path is narrow.
???? Exterior Sketch
The exterior retains the appearance of an old corner store, with a faded sign and quaint building that tell tales of time gone by. The entrance exudes the charm of a traditional rural eatery, and even the small chair at the entrance feels like a cozy photo spot.
Upon entering, you might be surprised by how it doesn't look like a typical restaurant at first. It operates alongside the supermarket, opening at 11 AM and closing at 4 PM, but may close early if ingredients run out. I strongly recommend making a reservation before your visit.
???? Interior with Nostalgic Charm
The interior evokes the feeling of being at a rural grandmother's house, radiating warmth from the first impression. Family photos hanging on the walls add a romantic touch unique to this place.
As you step inside, you'll find everyday necessities and snacks displayed like in a real supermarket, with a dining area further inside. The thoughtful decor and simple tables create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Upon entering, the first sight is that of a small supermarket. Inside, there's a kitchen and a room with traditional seating tables.
???? Unique Flavors Full of Rural Charm
The menu is simple, featuring barley rice, dumpling soup, and buckwheat porridge. When I asked about a menu item called 'gaseugi', I learned it refers to noodle soup with a rich broth. I chose the barley rice, which is priced at 7,000 KRW for a serving. Most menu items are affordably priced at just 7,000 KRW, making it a great value.
Accompanying the barley rice is a delightful soybean paste stew, rich in flavor, pairing perfectly with the barley rice.
As I settled in and ordered my food, the side dishes arrived first, each reflecting the deep flavors reminiscent of a mother's cooking. The main dish, free from artificial flavors, showcased the natural richness of the ingredients, leaving me feeling satisfied and moved throughout the meal. Sharing simple conversations while enjoying heartfelt food made me feel rejuvenated from daily fatigue.
???? Visiting Tips and Charming Photo Spots
The entire exterior of this place serves as a wonderful photo spot. Capturing moments against the retro sign creates nostalgic photos that evoke fond memories. If you prefer a leisurely and quiet dining experience, I recommend visiting during off-peak hours.
