Delicious Breakfast at Dongdowon in Jeju Seogwipo

During my recent trip to Jeju, I spent my time exclusively in Seogwipo, enjoying both relaxation and fun. I meticulously planned my itinerary, especially focusing on food, and I carefully selected restaurants to visit.

Among them, I want to share my experience at Dongdowon, a local gem in Jungmun that truly exceeded my expectations. I stumbled upon it while searching for breakfast options in Seogwipo, and I was drawn in by the generous portions and great taste.

Dongdowon has been beloved by locals for over 15 years, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is spacious, allowing for a comfortable dining experience. The presentation of the dishes was impressive, reminiscent of a royal feast, and the flavors were deeply satisfying.

They open at 9 AM, making it a perfect spot for early risers to kickstart their day with a hearty Korean breakfast. The address is 189 Ieodo-ro, Seogwipo, Jeju, and they offer ample parking space.

The interior of the restaurant was larger than I expected, clean, and well-maintained. The owner was very friendly, making us feel welcome. Although all the seating is at tables, they provide high chairs for families with young children.

The menu features the Dongdowon set meal, which includes braised mackerel and grilled fish as the main dishes. Upon entering, we quickly placed our order for three servings.

Shortly after, our table was filled with an array of delicious dishes. For 18,000 KRW per person, we received a generous spread that included rice, seafood stew, braised dishes, grilled items, and various side dishes. The quality was comparable to a high-end traditional meal.

We couldn't resist diving into the food. The seasonal side dishes were fresh and fragrant, and we were even encouraged to mix them into a bibimbap. If you request a bibimbap bowl, they provide gochujang (red pepper paste) and sesame oil, allowing you to create your own personalized dish.

The seafood stew was refreshing and packed with flavor, showcasing the essence of Jeju's ocean. The mackerel was perfectly seasoned, and the grilled fish was moist and flavorful, making it easy to enjoy without any fishy smell.

Overall, our family unanimously agreed that Dongdowon was the best breakfast we had during our trip to Seogwipo. The quality of each dish was impeccable, and I highly recommend visiting Dongdowon for a healthy and filling meal while in the area.
