Atmosphere
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a cozy and warm atmosphere.
The space is spacious, with multiple tables available, making it suitable for group reservations.
Even though I visited at 11 AM when it was quiet, it gets packed around noon.
Menu
Here’s the menu at Kong Sarang Village.
As a tofu specialty restaurant, you can see a variety of tofu dishes on the menu.
Whenever I come here, I always debate whether to order the stir-fried tofu with pork or the tofu hot pot.
Both are delicious!
On this chilly day, I decided to go for the hot pot.
I ordered the mixed hot pot, which includes dumplings.
In the summer, their cold soybean noodle dish is also famous!
Delicious Side Dishes
After placing my order, a variety of neatly arranged side dishes were served.
From seasoned bean sprouts to grilled tofu, they offer a wide range of side dishes.
Like the ones my mom makes at home, they were all so tasty that I kept wanting refills!
Especially the freshly grilled tofu was delicious when served warm!
It’s light and nutty, and you can enjoy it even without soy sauce.
Mixed Hot Pot
Next up is the main dish, the mixed hot pot.
You can think of it as a combination of tofu hot pot and dumpling hot pot.
Once the mixed hot pot arrives, make sure to let it boil thoroughly so all the ingredients cook well.
As it bubbles up, I took a moment to explore the hidden ingredients.
The main tofu was prominently visible, looking delicious!
Then came the dumplings, which were kimchi dumplings, perfectly complementing the spicy hot pot.
Now that everything is cooked, we each take some hot pot onto our plates.
I tried the tofu first, and it was incredibly nutty and delicious!
The tofu was soft on the inside while maintaining a firm texture, soaking up the spicy broth.
It’s no wonder this place is known for its tofu!
The dumplings were filled with tofu and kimchi, offering a spicy yet light flavor that paired well with the tofu.
I highly recommend trying both together!
In addition to tofu and dumplings, the hot pot is also filled with various mushrooms and rice cakes, making it a delightful dish.
I enjoyed the mixed hot pot so much that I could easily finish a bowl of rice with it.
At a reasonable price of 12,000 won per person, with generous side dishes and hot pot, it’s truly commendable!
Most importantly, the owner and staff are all very friendly, making each visit a pleasant experience.
If you’re looking for delicious Korean food near Namchuncheon Station, I highly recommend 'Kong Sarang Village'!
End.
