A Hidden Gem in Ilsan: Heuyukdo for Healthier Dining

Recently, I've been feeling a bit sluggish, likely due to the change of seasons. I decided it was time to indulge in a proper health-boosting meal, and that’s how I discovered Heuyukdo in Deokyi-dong, Ilsan. I typically enjoy dishes that include medicinal mushrooms, and this time I wanted to visit a place that truly delivers on that promise.
Located near Tanhyeon Station, the restaurant is easily accessible and convenient for driving. When searching for restaurants in Deokyi-dong, I noticed numerous reviews emphasizing the health benefits and authenticity of the dishes, which piqued my curiosity. After visiting, it became clear why it garnered such positive feedback.
Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and comfortable ambiance. The flavors of the food exceeded my expectations, offering a rich and deep taste. The prices are reasonable for health food, and considering the generous portions and quality of ingredients, I felt it was a great value. I knew I had to share this experience.
The restaurant, Heuyukdo, is located at 54 Deokui-ro, Ilsan, Goyang-si. It’s just a 5-minute drive from Tanhyeon Station, making it a hassle-free visit. Parking was also a breeze, with ample free parking available right in front of the establishment.
Open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM without any break times, it’s a convenient spot for gatherings or family meals without time constraints.
Their signature dishes include native chicken boiled with medicinal mushrooms, chicken soup, dumpling hot pot, and seafood stew. The first thing that struck me was the generous amount of mushrooms in the dishes. It truly felt like “half mushrooms, half meat,” with substantial, well-textured mushrooms that were visually impressive.
The broth was intensely aromatic and flavorful, offering a comforting taste that immediately confirmed its quality. I realized that this style of cooking is quite rare among restaurants in Deokyi-dong.
The highlight of the meal was the rich broth, which deepened in color as it simmered, exuding a healthful essence. Taking a spoonful of the broth felt like consuming a nourishing tonic. It was not overly stimulating but rather a concentrated essence of health that provided a soothing comfort.
After finishing the meat, the moment I added sticky rice to the remaining broth was the true highlight. The glossy rice melded effortlessly with the rich broth, creating a nourishing porridge-like dish that was utterly satisfying.
Overall, Heuyukdo is not just a restaurant; it’s a place where you can enjoy authentic health food in Deokyi-dong, Ilsan. With generous portions of mushrooms, deep broth, and attentive service, every aspect was commendable. I would love to return, especially during the changing seasons or when feeling fatigued, and it’s a perfect place to bring family without any hesitation.
