This review is my own 'self-purchased' experience.

Chuncheon Restaurant

Hwaebinjang

Recommended Chinese Restaurant in Chuncheon

Today, I would like to introduce a great restaurant in Chuncheon, Hwaebinjang!

Hello, I am Chobabi.

The place I want to introduce is a Tangsu-yuk (sweet and sour pork) and Gukbap (soup with rice) restaurant located in Toegye-dong, Chuncheon.

It's called 'Chuncheon Hwaebinjang'.

I had been wanting to visit this place after watching a YouTube video featuring it.

A local, Yangbaechah, highly recommended it to a famous YouTuber, Shinkiru.

Seeing the delicious food in the video made me crave it even more.

So, I quickly went to check it out!

Here is my review of Hwaebinjang.

Hwaebinjang is located in Chuncheon, specifically in Toegye-dong, between Toegye Jugong 1st Complex and Human City 1st Complex, in a food alley.

It is right across from 119 Dakgalbi.

For parking, you can use the spaces in front of the restaurant or the surrounding alleys.

The restaurant operates from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM, only for lunch, which is a bit disappointing.

They are closed every Sunday, so keep that in mind!

When I arrived around 10:40 AM, the restaurant was still quiet, but it gets packed closer to lunchtime.

The interior is spacious, with a central hall and a separate room, making it suitable for groups.

Now, let's take a look at the menu!

As expected from a Chinese restaurant, they offer a variety of noodles, rice dishes, and appetizers.

Since it was my first visit and I came after watching the YouTube video, I ordered the small Tangsu-yuk and two bowls of Gukbap.

I noticed many diners enjoying Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and Fried Rice, which also looked delicious.

First up, the Tangsu-yuk!

As soon as it arrived, the shiny sauce caught my eye!

This sauce was different from the usual ketchup; it had a mild sweetness without being overly sour, making it incredibly tasty.

The addictive flavor made it hard to stop eating!

The pork was crispy, and the batter was perfectly balanced, complementing the delicious sauce.

It was great on its own or with a bit of soy sauce!

Next, I was most excited about the Gukbap.

When you think of Gukbap, you might think of pork or blood sausage soup, but this is a unique style from a Chinese restaurant.

One sip of the broth and you'll feel refreshed!

After a night of drinking, this soup is just what you need!

The broth was rich and flavorful, and it was filled with plenty of meat, vegetables, and glass noodles.

It reminded me a bit of Yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) but with a lighter taste.

Mixing in a bowl of rice made it even more satisfying!

This place in Chuncheon is definitely a must-visit for Tangsu-yuk and Gukbap!

That's all for now!
